以上就是以色列的十二支派；這是他們的父親對他們所說的話。他祝福他們，是按著各人的福份祝福他們。

約瑟對他父親說：「他們是我的兒子，是神在這裡賜給我的。」以色列說：「把他們帶到我這裡，好讓我祝福他們。」

以撒沒有認出他來，因為他的手像他哥哥以掃的手那樣多毛。於是以撒就要祝福他，

以色列祝福約瑟說：「願我祖父亞伯拉罕和我父以撒所跟隨的神，就是牧養我一生直到今日的神，也是救贖我脫離一切禍患的那一位，祝福這兩個孩子！願我的名，我祖父亞伯拉罕和我父以撒的名，藉著他們得以流傳；願他們在地上生養眾多。」約瑟見父親把右手按在以法蓮的頭上，就覺得不對，於是抓著父親的手，要從以法蓮的頭上移到瑪拿西的頭上。約瑟對他父親說：「我的父親哪，這樣不對！這一個才是長子，你要把右手放在他的頭上。」他父親卻拒絕他，說：「我知道，我兒，我知道！他也要成為一族，也必昌大；只是他的弟弟將來比他還要昌大，他弟弟的後裔必成為多國。」以色列當天就祝福他們，說：「以色列人要用你們的名說祝福的話：『願神使你像以法蓮和瑪拿西一樣。』」這樣他把以法蓮立在瑪拿西之先。

西面祝福他們，並對孩子的母親瑪麗亞說：「看哪，這孩子註定要使以色列中許多人跌倒、許多人興起，並要成為一個遭受反對的標記，

他們祝福莉百加，對她說：「我們的妹妹啊，願你成為千萬人的母親，願你的後裔占有仇敵的城門！」

他祝福亞伯蘭，說：「願至高神、天地的主宰祝福亞伯蘭！

『你把野味帶回來，做成美食給我吃，好讓我在死之前，在耶和華面前祝福你。』

他在祝福的時候離開他們，被接到天上去了。

雅各就靠近親吻了父親；以撒聞到雅各衣服的氣味，就祝福他，說：「啊，我兒子的氣味就像耶和華所祝福的田野的氣味！

以掃也做了美食，拿給他父親，對父親說：「我父啊，請起來，吃你兒子的野味，好為我祝福。」
