But Isaac said,“ Your brother came and tricked me. He took your blessing.”

以撒说：“你弟弟心怀诡计地前来，已经夺取了你的祝福。”

以撒說：“你弟弟已經前來，用詭計把你的祝福奪去了。”

以撒說：『你兄弟進來，用詭詐把你應得的祝福取了去了。』

以撒說：「你弟弟心懷詭計地前來，已經奪取了你的祝福。」

But he said,“ Your brother came deceitfully and took your blessing.”

But he said,“ Your brother came deceitfully, and he has taken away your blessing.”

But Isaac said,“ Your brother was here, and he tricked me. He has taken away your blessing.”

But he replied,“ Your brother came deceitfully and took your blessing.”

And he said,“ Your brother came deceitfully and has taken away your blessing.”

But he said,“ Your brother came with deceit and has taken away your blessing.”

And he said, Thy brother came with guile, and hath taken away thy blessing.

But he replied,“ Your brother came deceitfully and took your blessing.”

And he said, Thy brother came with subtilty, and hath taken away thy blessing.

But Isaac replied,“ Your brother came in here deceitfully and took away your blessing.”

He said,“ Your brother came with deceit, and has taken away your blessing.”

None of you should sin against your brother or sister by doing that. You should not take advantage of your brother or sister. The Lord will punish everyone who commits these kinds of sins. We have already told you and warned you about this.

People of Judah, all of us have one Father. One God created us. So why do we break the covenant the Lord made with our people of long ago? We do this by being unfaithful to one another.

Someone might argue,“ When I lie, it becomes clearer that God is truthful. It makes his glory shine more brightly. Why then does he find me guilty of sin?”Why not say,“ Let’s do evil things so that good things will happen”? Some people actually lie by reporting that this is what we say. They are the ones who will rightly be found guilty.

Jacob said to his father,“ I’m your oldest son Esau. I’ve done as you told me. Please sit up. Eat some of my wild meat. Then give me your blessing.”Isaac asked his son,“ How did you find it so quickly, my son?”“ The Lord your God gave me success,” he replied.Then Isaac said to Jacob,“ Come near so I can touch you, my son. I want to know whether you really are my son Esau.”Jacob went close to his father. Isaac touched him and said,“ The voice is the voice of Jacob. But the hands are the hands of Esau.”Isaac didn’t recognize Jacob. Jacob’s hands were covered with hair like those of his brother Esau. So Isaac blessed him.

Send for all of Baal’s prophets. Also send for all his priests and the others who serve him. Make sure that not a single one is missing. I’m going to hold a great sacrifice to honor Baal. Anyone who doesn’t come will be killed.” But Jehu was lying to them. He was planning to destroy everyone who served Baal.

Will you say evil things in order to help God? Will you tell lies for him?

Treasure is kept in clay jars. In the same way, we have the treasure of the good news in these earthly bodies of ours. That shows that the mighty power of the good news comes from God. It doesn’t come from us.
