你们知道，后来他想继承祝福，却被弃绝了，虽然他流着泪水寻求，还是找不到悔改的机会。

所以他们将吃尽自己行为的果实，饱尝自己计谋的后果。

既然我呼唤了，你们拒绝，我伸出了手，没有人留心，你们忽视了我一切的劝告，也没有接受我的责备；那么，你们遭难时，我就讥笑；你们的恐惧临到时，我就嘲笑——那时，恐惧像风暴那样临到，灾难像旋风那样来临，患难和困苦临到你们身上。那时，他们将呼求我，我却不回应；他们将切切寻找我，却找不到。

“你们要为进窄门而争战，因为我告诉你们：将有许多人想要进去，却是不能。等到那家的主人起来关了门，你们才开始站在外面敲门，说：‘主啊，请给我们开门！’主人就会回答你们，说：‘我不知道你们是从哪里来的。’那时你们就开始说：‘我们曾经在你面前吃过、喝过，你也曾经在我们的大街上教导过！’他要对你们说：‘我不知道你们是从哪里来的。离开我，你们所有不义的工人！’当你们看见亚伯拉罕、以撒、雅各和所有的先知在神的国里，而你们却被丢在外面的时候，在那里将有哀哭和切齿。

人的愚妄倾覆自己的道路，他的心却对耶和华恼怒。

大卫和随同他的人就放声大哭，直哭到没有力气。
