你们知道，他后来想要承受父亲对长子的祝福，却遭到拒绝，虽然声泪俱下，终无法使父亲回心转意。

所以，你们必自食其果，因自己的恶谋而吃尽苦头。

我呼唤你们，你们却充耳不闻；我向你们招手，你们却视若无睹。你们漠视我的劝诫，不接受我的责备。因此，你们遭遇灾难时，我必发笑；惊恐临到你们时，我必嗤笑——那时，恐惧如风暴袭击你们，灾难如旋风临到你们，忧愁和苦难吞没你们。你们呼求我，我也不回答；你们恳切地寻找我，却找不到。

“你们要努力进窄门，因为我告诉你们，将来有许多人想要进却进不去。当主人起来把门关闭之后，你们才站在外面叩门哀求，说，‘主啊，给我们开门吧！’主人必说，‘我不认识你们，你们是从哪里来的？’“那时，你们必说，‘我们不是在一起用过餐吗？你不是在街上教导过我们吗？’“主人必说，‘我告诉你们，我不认识你们，也不知道你们是从哪里来的。你们这些作恶的人，走开！’“当你们看见亚伯拉罕、以撒、雅各和众先知在上帝的国，自己却被丢在门外，必要在那里哀哭切齿。

人因愚昧而自毁前程，他的心却抱怨耶和华。

便放声大哭，直哭得精疲力尽。
