He said,“ Look, I am old and do not know the day of my death.

Isaac said,“ I am now an old man and don’t know the day of my death.

Isaac said,“ I’m an old man now. And I don’t know when I’ll die.

He said,“ Behold, I am old; I do not know the day of my death.

“ I am an old man now,” Isaac said,“ and I don’t know when I may die.

He said,“ Look, I am old and do not know the day of my death.

Then Isaac said,“ Behold now, I am old and I do not know the day of my death.

Then he said,“ Behold now, I am old. I do not know the day of my death.

And he said, Behold now, I am old, I know not the day of my death.

And he said, Behold now, I am old, I know not the day of my death:

Isaac said,“ Since I am so old, I could die at any time.

He said,“ See now, I am old. I don’t know the day of my death.

Don’t boast about tomorrow, for you don’t know what a day might bring.

He said,“ Please, Lord, remember how I have walked before You faithfully and wholeheartedly, and have done what pleases You.” And Hezekiah wept bitterly.

When the time drew near for him to die, he called his son Joseph and said to him,“ If I have found favor in your eyes, put your hand under my thigh and promise me that you will deal with me in kindness and faithfulness. Do not bury me in Egypt.

Therefore be alert, since you don’t know when the master of the house is coming— whether in the evening or at midnight or at the crowing of the rooster or early in the morning.

But David said,“ Your father certainly knows that you have come to look favorably on me. He has said,‘ Jonathan must not know of this, or else he will be grieved.’” David also swore,“ As surely as the Lord lives and as you yourself live, there is but a step between me and death.”

Then Israel said to Joseph,“ Look, I am about to die, but God will be with you and will bring you back to the land of your fathers.

You don’t even know what tomorrow will bring— what your life will be! For you are like smoke that appears for a little while, then vanishes.

In those days Hezekiah became terminally ill. The prophet Isaiah son of Amoz came and said to him,“ This is what the Lord says:‘ Put your affairs in order, for you are about to die; you will not recover.’”

Whatever your hands find to do, do with all your strength, because there is no work, planning, knowledge, or wisdom in Sheol where you are going.
