兩個孩子漸漸長大；以掃很懂得打獵，是個田野的人；雅各為人安靜；他常住在帳棚裏。

力量和成功的謀略盡在於他；受騙的與騙人的、都屬於他。

以掃說：『是不是因為他名叫「欺騙」、他才欺騙了我這兩次呢？我的長子名分、他取了去；如今你看，他又把我應得的祝福取了去。』以掃又說：『難道你沒有給我保留個祝福麼？』

要禁戒各式各樣的邪惡。

就說：『迦南該受咒詛；他必給他的弟兄做奴僕的奴僕。』

可咒詛啊、行詐騙的人！他的羣中有公的；他也許過願了，卻用有損壞的祭獻給主！其實我是至大的王，萬軍之永恆主說：我的名在列國中是可畏懼的啊。

以撒對雅各說：『孩子，你走近前來，我摩挱摩挱你，看你真是我的兒子以掃不是。』雅各就走近他父親以撒身邊；以撒摩挱摩挱他、就說：『聲音呢、是雅各的聲音；手呢、卻是以掃的手。』
