不殷勤地為耶和華做工，不揮刀斬殺摩押人的必受咒詛。

無論是得榮耀還是受羞辱，遭毀謗還是得稱讚，都顯明自己是上帝的僕人。我們被視為騙子，卻是誠實無偽；

孩子們漸漸長大，以掃擅長狩獵，常在田野活動；雅各生來安靜，喜歡待在家裡。

祂充滿力量和智慧。騙子和受騙者都在祂權下。

以掃說：「怪不得他叫雅各，他已經騙了我兩次，先前把我長子的名分奪去，現在又奪去我的福分！」接著他對父親說：「難道你沒有留下別的祝福可以給我嗎？」

杜絕所有的惡事。

就說：「迦南該受咒詛，必做他弟兄的僕人的僕人。」

許願時說要獻上羊群中的公羊，後來卻拿傷殘的來獻給主，這種人該受咒詛！因為我是大君王，就是外族人也敬畏我的名。這是萬軍之耶和華說的。」

以撒說：「孩子，過來，讓我摸摸看你是不是我兒以掃。」雅各挨到父親跟前，以撒摸著他說：「聲音是雅各的聲音，手卻是以掃的手。」
