One day when Isaac was old and turning blind, he called for Esau, his older son, and said,“ My son.”“ Yes, Father?” Esau replied.

When Isaac was old and his eyes were so weak that he could no longer see, he called for Esau his older son and said to him,“ My son.”“ Here I am,” he answered.

One nation will be stronger than the other; and your older son will serve your younger son.”And when the time came to give birth, Rebekah discovered that she did indeed have twins!The first one was very red at birth and covered with thick hair like a fur coat. So they named him Esau.

“ It was not because of his sins or his parents’ sins,” Jesus answered.“ This happened so the power of God could be seen in him.

Remember him before your legs— the guards of your house— start to tremble; and before your shoulders— the strong men— stoop. Remember him before your teeth— your few remaining servants— stop grinding; and before your eyes— the women looking through the windows— see dimly.
