懼怕人的，必陷入網羅；倚靠耶和華的，必得安全。

曾經提到他的妻子撒拉說：“她是我的妹妹。”於是基拉耳王亞比米勒派人來把撒拉取了去。

請你說你是我的妹妹，使我因你的緣故可以平安無事，我的性命也可以因你的緣故得以保全。”

那少女容貌非常美麗，還是個處女，沒有男人親近過她。她下到水泉那裡，打滿了水瓶，又上來。

何況她也實在是我的妹妹；她原是我同父異母的妹妹，後來作了我的妻子。神叫我離開我父家，在外飄流的時候，我對她說：‘我們無論到甚麼地方去，你都要對人說：“他是我的哥哥。”這就是你待我的恩情了。’”

那些殺身體卻不能殺靈魂的，不要怕他們；倒要怕那位能把靈魂和身體都投入地獄裡的。

你們作丈夫的，要愛妻子，好像基督愛教會，為教會捨己，

不要彼此說謊，因為你們已經脫去了舊人和舊人的行為，

那人豈不是自己對我說：‘她是我的妹妹’嗎？就是那女人自己也說：‘他是我的哥哥’。我作這事，是手潔心清的。”
