Stay in this land for a while, and I will be with you and will bless you. For to you and your descendants I will give all these lands and will confirm the oath I swore to your father Abraham.

耶和華向亞伯蘭顯現，說：「我要把這地賜給你的後裔。」亞伯蘭就在那裏為向他顯現的耶和華築了一座壇。

亞伯拉罕從那裏往尼革夫遷移，寄居在加低斯和書珥之間的基拉耳。

在那日，耶和華與亞伯蘭立約，說：「我已賜給你的後裔這一片地，從埃及河直到大河，幼發拉底河，

說：「耶和華說：『你既行了這事，沒有留下你的兒子，就是你的獨子，我指着自己起誓：我必多多賜福給你，我必使你的後裔大大增多，如同天上的星、海邊的沙。你的後裔必得仇敵的城門，並且地上的萬國都必因你的後裔得福，因為你聽從了我的話。』」

就是與亞伯拉罕所立的約，向以撒所起的誓。

因着信，他就在所應許之地作客，好像在異鄉，居住在帳棚裏，與蒙同一個應許的以撒和雅各一樣。

你起來，縱橫走遍這地，因為我必把這地賜給你。」

這些人都是存着信心死的，並沒有得着所應許的，卻從遠處觀望，且歡喜迎接。他們承認自己在地上是客旅，是寄居的。說這樣話的人是表明自己要尋找一個家鄉。他們若想念所離開的家鄉，還有回去的機會。其實他們所羨慕的是一個更美的，就是在天上的家鄉。所以，上帝並不因他們稱他為上帝而覺得羞恥，因為他已經為他們預備了一座城。

耶和華對亞伯蘭說：「你要離開本地、本族、父家，往我所要指示你的地去。我必使你成為大國，我必賜福給你，使你的名為大；你要使別人得福。

不要為作惡的心懷不平，也不要嫉妒那行不義的人。因為他們如草快被割下，又如綠色的嫩草快要枯乾。你當倚靠耶和華而行善，安居地上，以他的信實為糧；又當以耶和華為樂，他就將你心裏所求的賜給你。當將你的道路交託耶和華，並倚靠他，他就必成全。他要使你的公義如光發出，使你的公平明如正午。

他有羊羣牛羣，又有許多僕人，非利士人就嫉妒他。

我要把你現在寄居的地，就是迦南全地，賜給你和你的後裔永遠為業；我也必作他們的上帝。」

照樣，上帝願意為那承受應許的人更有力地顯明他的旨意不可更改，他以起誓作保證。

我要教導你，指示你當行的路，我要定睛在你身上勸戒你。

約瑟在他埃及主人的家中，耶和華與他同在，他是一個通達的人。

「耶和華啊，求你聽我的禱告，側耳聽我的呼求！我流淚，求你不要靜默無聲！因為在你面前我是客旅，是寄居的，像我列祖一般。

你必按古時向我們列祖起誓的話，以信實待雅各，向亞伯拉罕施慈愛。

但耶和華與約瑟同在，向他施恩，使他在監獄長的眼前蒙恩。

以撒在那地耕種，那一年有百倍的收成。耶和華賜福給他，

你從水中經過，我必與你同在，你渡過江河，水必不漫過你；你在火中行走，也不被燒傷，火焰必不燒着你身。

你們從我所學習的，所領受的，所聽見的，所看見的事，你們都要繼續去做，賜平安的上帝就必與你們同在。

你不要害怕，因我與你同在；我必領你的後裔從東方來，又從西方召集你。
