And Abraham journeyed from thence toward the land of the South, and dwelt between Kadesh and Shur; and he sojourned in Gerar.

In that day Jehovah made a covenant with Abram, saying, Unto thy seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates:

and said, By myself have I sworn, saith Jehovah, because thou hast done this thing, and hast not withheld thy son, thine only son,that in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heavens, and as the sand which is upon the seashore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies;and in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice.

The covenant which he made with Abraham, And his oath unto Isaac,

By faith he became a sojourner in the land of promise, as in a land not his own, dwelling in tents, with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise:

Arise, walk through the land in the length of it and in the breadth of it; for unto thee will I give it.

These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them and greeted them from afar, and having confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.For they that say such things make it manifest that they are seeking after a country of their own.And if indeed they had been mindful of that country from which they went out, they would have had opportunity to return.But now they desire a better country, that is, a heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed of them, to be called their God; for he hath prepared for them a city.

Now Jehovah said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto the land that I will show thee:and I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and be thou a blessing:

Fret not thyself because of evil- doers, Neither be thou envious against them that work unrighteousness.For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, And wither as the green herb.Trust in Jehovah, and do good; Dwell in the land, and feed on his faithfulness.Delight thyself also in Jehovah; And he will give thee the desires of thy heart.Commit thy way unto Jehovah; Trust also in him, and he will bring it to pass.And he will make thy righteousness to go forth as the light, And thy justice as the noonday.

and he had possessions of flocks, and possessions of herds, and a great household: and the Philistines envied him.

And I will give unto thee, and to thy seed after thee, the land of thy sojournings, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God.

Wherein God, being minded to show more abundantly unto the heirs of the promise the immutability of his counsel, interposed with an oath;

I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will counsel thee with mine eye upon thee.

And Jehovah was with Joseph, and he was a prosperous man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian.

Hear my prayer, O Jehovah, and give ear unto my cry; Hold not thy peace at my tears: For I am a stranger with thee, A sojourner, as all my fathers were.

Thou wilt perform the truth to Jacob, and the lovingkindness to Abraham, which thou hast sworn unto our fathers from the days of old.

But Jehovah was with Joseph, and showed kindness unto him, and gave him favor in the sight of the keeper of the prison.

And Isaac sowed in that land, and found in the same year a hundredfold: and Jehovah blessed him.

When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned, neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.

The things which ye both learned and received and heard and saw in me, these things do: and the God of peace shall be with you.

Fear not; for I am with thee: I will bring thy seed from the east, and gather thee from the west;
