They answered,“ We saw clearly that the Lord was with you; so we said,‘ There ought to be a sworn agreement between us’— between us and you. Let us make a treaty with you

They replied,“ We have clearly seen how the Lord has been with you. We think there should be an oath between two parties— between us and you. Let us make a covenant with you:

And they said, We saw certainly that the LORD was with thee: and we said, Let there be now an oath betwixt us,[ even] betwixt us and thee, and let us make a covenant with thee;

They replied,“ We could plainly see that the LORD is with you. So we decided there should be a pact between us– between us and you. Allow us to make a treaty with you

Now it came about at that time that Abimelech and Phicol, the commander of his army, spoke to Abraham, saying,“ God is with you in all that you do;so now, swear to me here by God that you will not deal falsely with me or with my offspring or with my descendants, but according to the kindness that I have shown to you, you shall show to me and to the land in which you have resided.”

What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who is against us?

For people swear an oath by one greater than themselves, and with them an oath serving as confirmation is an end of every dispute.

Now Solomon the son of David established himself securely over his kingdom, and the Lord his God was with him and exalted him greatly.
