They answered,“ We saw clearly that the Lord was with you; so we said,‘ There ought to be a sworn agreement between us’— between us and you. Let us make a treaty with you

They answered,“ We saw clearly that the Lord was with you. So we said,‘ There should be an agreement between us and you.’ We want to make a peace treaty with you.

They said,“ We see plainly that the Lord has been with you. So we said, let there be a sworn pact between us, between you and us, and let us make a covenant with you,

They replied,“ We can plainly see that the Lord is with you. So we want to enter into a sworn treaty with you. Let’s make a covenant.

They replied,“ We have clearly seen how the LORD has been with you. We think there should be an oath between two parties— between us and you. Let us make a covenant with you:

They said,“ We have seen plainly that the Lord has been with you; so we said,‘ An oath must now be taken by us,’ that is, by you and us. So let us make a covenant with you,

But they said,“ We have certainly seen that the Lord is with you. So we said,‘ Let there now be an oath between us, between you and us; and let us make a covenant with you,

And they said, We saw plainly that Jehovah was with thee: and we said, Let there now be an oath betwixt us, even betwixt us and thee, and let us make a covenant with thee,

They replied,“ We have clearly seen how the Lord has been with you. We think there should be an oath between two parties— between us and you. Let us make a covenant with you:

And they said, We saw certainly that the LORD was with thee: and we said, Let there be now an oath betwixt us,[ even] betwixt us and thee, and let us make a covenant with thee;

They replied,“ We could plainly see that the LORD is with you. So we decided there should be a pact between us– between us and you. Allow us to make a treaty with you

They said,“ We saw plainly that Yahweh was with you. We said,‘ Let there now be an oath between us, even between us and you, and let’s make a covenant with you,

當那時候，亞比米勒同他軍長非各對亞伯拉罕說：「凡你所行的事都有神的保佑。我願你如今在這裏指着神對我起誓，不要欺負我與我的兒子，並我的子孫。我怎樣厚待了你，你也要照樣厚待我與你所寄居這地的民。」

耶和華如此說：埃及勞碌得來的和古實的貨物必歸你；身量高大的西巴人必投降你，也要屬你。他們必帶着鎖鍊過來隨從你，又向你下拜，祈求你說：神真在你們中間，此外再沒有別神；再沒有別的神。

又叫米斯巴，意思說：「我們彼此離別以後，願耶和華在你我中間鑒察。你若苦待我的女兒，又在我的女兒以外另娶妻，雖沒有人知道，卻有神在你我中間作見證。」拉班又說：「你看我在你我中間所立的這石堆和柱子。這石堆作證據，這柱子也作證據。我必不過這石堆去害你；你也不可過這石堆和柱子來害我。但願亞伯拉罕的神和拿鶴的神，就是他們父親的神，在你我中間判斷。」雅各就指着他父親以撒所敬畏的神起誓，

我要叫你指着耶和華－天地的主起誓，不要為我兒子娶這迦南地中的女子為妻。

既是這樣，還有甚麼說的呢？神若幫助我們，誰能敵擋我們呢？

人都是指着比自己大的起誓，並且以起誓為實據，了結各樣的爭論。

大衛的兒子所羅門國位堅固；耶和華－他的神與他同在，使他甚為尊大。

你們倒要稱為耶和華的祭司；人必稱你們為我們神的僕役。你們必吃用列國的財物，因得他們的榮耀自誇。

只要你到了我本族那裏，我使你起的誓就與你無干。他們若不把女子交給你，我使你起的誓也與你無干。』

他們的後裔必在列國中被人認識；他們的子孫在眾民中也是如此。凡看見他們的必認他們是耶和華賜福的後裔。

素來苦待你的，他的子孫都必屈身來就你；藐視你的，都要在你腳下跪拜。他們要稱你為「耶和華的城」，為「以色列聖者的錫安」。

耶和華對約書亞說：「從今日起，我必使你在以色列眾人眼前尊大，使他們知道我怎樣與摩西同在，也必照樣與你同在。

自從主人派約瑟管理家務和他一切所有的，耶和華就因約瑟的緣故賜福與那埃及人的家；凡家裏和田間一切所有的都蒙耶和華賜福。

你們存心不可貪愛錢財，要以自己所有的為足；因為主曾說：「我總不撇下你，也不丟棄你。」

他心裏的隱情顯露出來，就必將臉伏地，敬拜神，說：「神真是在你們中間了。」

所以他給那地方起名叫別是巴，因為他們二人在那裏起了誓。他們在別是巴立了約，亞比米勒就同他軍長非各起身回非利士地去了。
