他们把他送到迦南地，葬在幔利对面的麦比拉田间的洞里；那田是亚伯拉罕向赫人以弗仑买来作坟地的产业。

他又吩咐他们说：“我快要归到我祖先那里。你们要将我葬在赫人以弗仑田间的洞里，与我的祖先在一处，就是在迦南地幔利对面的麦比拉田间的洞里，那田是亚伯拉罕向赫人以弗仑买来作坟地的产业。

那时，撒拉看见埃及人夏甲为亚伯拉罕所生的儿子戏笑，就对亚伯拉罕说：“你把这使女和她儿子赶出去！因为这使女的儿子不可与我的儿子以撒一同承受产业。”

把他田地尽头的麦比拉洞卖给我。他可以按照足价卖给我，作为我在你们中间的坟地。”那时，以弗仑正坐在赫人中间。赫人以弗仑就回答亚伯拉罕，说给所有出入城门的赫人听：“不，我主请听。我要把这块田送给你，连田间的洞也送给你，在我同族的人眼前都给你，让你埋葬你的死人。”亚伯拉罕就在当地的百姓面前下拜，对以弗仑说，也给当地百姓听：“你若应允，请你听我。我要把田的价钱给你，请你收下，我就在那里埋葬我的死人。”以弗仑回答亚伯拉罕说：“我主请听。四百舍客勒银子的地，在你我中间算什么呢？只管埋葬你的死人吧！”亚伯拉罕听从了以弗仑。亚伯拉罕就照着他说给赫人听的，把买卖通用的银子，秤了四百舍客勒银子给以弗仑。于是，以弗仑把那块位于幔利对面的麦比拉田，和其中的洞，以及田间周围的树木都成交了，在所有出入城门的赫人眼前，卖给亚伯拉罕作为他的产业。后来，亚伯拉罕把他妻子撒拉安葬在迦南地幔利对面的麦比拉田间的洞里，幔利就是希伯仑。从此，那块田和田间的洞就从赫人移交给亚伯拉罕作坟地的产业。
