你们当中有哪个做父亲的，儿子要鱼，反而拿蛇当做鱼给他呢？儿子要鸡蛋，却给他蝎子呢？所以，如果你们做为恶人也知道把好的东西给自己的儿女，更何况天上的父要赐圣灵给求他的人呢！”

于是瑞秋把她的婢女碧荷给雅各作妾，雅各就与她同房。

他夜间起来，带着他的两个妻子、两个婢女和十一个孩子，过了雅博浅滩。

好让你们成为你们天父的儿女。因为他使太阳升起，对着恶人，也对着好人；降雨给义人，也给不义的人。

其实神并不是没有为自己留下证据，因为他常行美善：从天上赐给你们雨水和丰收的季节，使你们食物充足，满心喜乐。”

耶和华啊，求你用手使我脱离世人——他们只在今生有份：你用你所储藏的填满他们的肚腹；他们也因有儿女而满足，还把剩余的留给他们的幼儿。至于我，我要在公义中仰望你的脸；当我醒来时，就因你的形像而满足。

亚伯兰在迦南地居住十年之后，亚伯兰的妻子撒莱把自己的婢女埃及人夏甲带来给丈夫亚伯兰作妾。

亚伯拉罕又娶了一个妻子，名叫基土拉。

以色列在那地居住的时候，鲁本去与他父亲的小妾碧荷同睡；以色列也听到了这事。雅各有十二个儿子：

莉亚见自己停止了生育，就把自己的婢女悉帕带来给雅各作妾。
