So I commend the enjoyment of life, because there is nothing better for a person under the sun than to eat and drink and be glad. Then joy will accompany them in their toil all the days of the life God has given them under the sun. (niv)

And the Lord said to me,“ Throw it to the potter”— the handsome price at which they valued me! So I took the thirty pieces of silver and threw them to the potter at the house of the Lord. (niv)

“‘ Look, you scoffers, wonder and perish, for I am going to do something in your days that you would never believe, even if someone told you.’” (niv)

See that no one is sexually immoral, or is godless like Esau, who for a single meal sold his inheritance rights as the oldest son.Afterward, as you know, when he wanted to inherit this blessing, he was rejected. Even though he sought the blessing with tears, he could not change what he had done. (niv)

Then they despised the pleasant land; they did not believe his promise. (niv)

and asked,“ What are you willing to give me if I deliver him over to you?” So they counted out for him thirty pieces of silver. (niv)

For, as I have often told you before and now tell you again even with tears, many live as enemies of the cross of Christ.Their destiny is destruction, their god is their stomach, and their glory is in their shame. Their mind is set on earthly things. (niv)

If I fought wild beasts in Ephesus with no more than human hopes, what have I gained? If the dead are not raised,“ Let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we die.” (niv)
