以撒把莉百加帶進他母親撒拉的帳篷。之後，以撒娶了她，莉百加就成為以撒的妻子；以撒愛莉百加。這樣以撒在他的母親去世之後，才受了安慰。

神藉著夜間的一個夢來到亞蘭人拉班那裡，對他說：「你要小心，不可與雅各說好說歹。」

又帶著他積聚的一切財物和他所有的牲畜，就是他在巴旦-亞蘭所積聚、擁有的牲畜，往迦南地，到他父親以撒那裡。

雅各欺瞞亞蘭人拉班，沒有告訴他自己要逃走。

於是以撒打發雅各前往巴旦-亞蘭，到亞蘭人彼土利的兒子拉班那裡。拉班是雅各和以掃的母親莉百加的哥哥。以掃看見以撒祝福了雅各，又打發他去巴旦-亞蘭那裡娶妻；並見以撒祝福雅各時，吩咐他說：「你不要從迦南的女子中娶妻」；

自雅各從巴旦-亞蘭回來後，神再次向他顯現，祝福了他。

還有，在先知以利沙的時代，在以色列有許多痲瘋病人；可是除了敘利亞人奈曼以外，沒有一個人被潔淨。」
