If the woman is unwilling to come back with you, then you will be released from this oath of mine. Only do not take my son back there.”

The woman may not want to come back with you. If she doesn’t, you will be free from your promise. But don’t take my son back there.”

If she is unwilling to come back with you, then you are free from this oath of mine. But under no circumstances are you to take my son there.”

If the woman is unwilling to follow you, then you are free from this oath to me, but don’t let my son go back there.”

The men said to her,“ We will be guiltless with respect to this oath of yours that you have made us swear.Behold, when we come into the land, you shall tie this scarlet cord in the window through which you let us down, and you shall gather into your house your father and mother, your brothers, and all your father’s household.Then if anyone goes out of the doors of your house into the street, his blood shall be on his own head, and we shall be guiltless. But if a hand is laid on anyone who is with you in the house, his blood shall be on our head.But if you tell this business of ours, then we shall be guiltless with respect to your oath that you have made us swear.”

But if her father opposes her on the day that he hears of it, no vow of hers, no pledge by which she has bound herself shall stand. And the Lord will forgive her, because her father opposed her.

But if, on the day that her husband comes to hear of it, he opposes her, then he makes void her vow that was on her, and the thoughtless utterance of her lips by which she bound herself. And the Lord will forgive her.
