是時也、地大震、邑圮十分之一、死者七千人、餘皆恐懼、歸榮於在天之上帝、○

民遭困苦、彼亦共之、使侍其前之使救之、加仁愛矜恤以贖之、在古昔時、扶翼之、懷抱之、

強乃心、壯乃志、以爾必導斯民、得我誓賜其祖之地、

一心賴耶和華、勿恃己之明哲、凡事認之、彼必平直爾途、

耶和華不能導斯民、入所誓許之地、故滅之於野、

迨耶和華導爾入迦南人、赫人、亞摩利人、希未人、耶布斯人之境、即其誓於爾祖、賜爾流乳與蜜之地、當於是月守此禮、

耶和華之使者自吉甲上至波金、曰、我使爾出埃及、攜至所誓爾祖之地、曾言與爾之約、永久不廢、

以信而旅於所許之地、如在異地、偕共承上帝所許之以撒雅各居於幕、

耶和華諭之曰、此地乃我所誓於亞伯拉罕以撒雅各、以賜其後裔者、我使爾目睹、惟不得濟、

曰、我乃希伯來人、畏天上上帝耶和華、造滄海與陸地者也、

旅於斯土、我將偕爾、錫爾以嘏、以此列邦賜爾、爰及苗裔、昔與乃父亞伯拉罕所誓者、我必踐其言、繁衍爾裔、如天之星、以此列邦予之、天下萬民、因之獲福、

然未嘗以業賜之、即立足之地、亦無之、維時彼尚無子、而上帝許以斯地賜之為業、爰及其裔、

俱不得入、我誓賜爾以居之地、惟耶孚尼子迦勒、及嫩之子約書亞入之、
