但那僕人對他們說：「既然耶和華使我一路順利，請你們不要耽誤我，請打發我回我主人那裡去吧！」

於是他們把自己的妹妹莉百加和她的乳母，以及亞伯拉罕的僕人和那些隨同他的人，都送走了。

於是，約瑟打發他的兄弟們走；他們離開的時候，約瑟對他們說：「你們在路上不要爭吵。」

撒督的兒子亞希瑪斯說：「請讓我跑去向王報好消息，耶和華已經救他脫離仇敵的手了！」

不要說：「為什麼先前的日子好過現在的日子呢？」因為你這樣問不是出於智慧。

於是以撒打發雅各前往巴旦-亞蘭，到亞蘭人彼土利的兒子拉班那裡。拉班是雅各和以掃的母親莉百加的哥哥。以掃看見以撒祝福了雅各，又打發他去巴旦-亞蘭那裡娶妻；並見以撒祝福雅各時，吩咐他說：「你不要從迦南的女子中娶妻」；

你看見過做事老練的人嗎？他必站立在君王面前，而不會站立在低微的人面前。

守望的人說：「我看第一個人的跑法像撒督的兒子亞希瑪斯的跑法。」王說：「這是個好人，他一定帶來好消息。」亞希瑪斯向王呼叫說：「平安！」然後臉伏於地向王下拜。他說：「耶和華你的神是當受頌讚的！他把揮手攻擊我主我王的人交給王了。」

鬼魔所離開的那人央求耶穌，要和他在一起，但耶穌讓他走，說：「你回家去吧，述說神為你做了什麼。」於是他就離開了，在全城裡傳揚耶穌為他做了什麼樣的事。
