僕人回答他們：“你們不要挽留我，耶和華既然使我的道路亨通，就請打發我回到我主人那裡去。”

於是，他們把自己的妹妹利百加，她的乳母和亞伯拉罕的僕人，以及同來的人，都打發走了。

於是，約瑟打發他的兄弟們回去，他們走的時候，約瑟對他們說：“你們在路上不要爭吵。”

撒督的兒子亞希瑪斯說：“讓我跑去，把這好消息向王報告，就是耶和華已經把他從仇敵的手中拯救出來了。”

你不要說：“為甚麼從前的日子勝過現在的呢？”你這樣問，不是出於智慧。

於是，以撒打發雅各去了，雅各就往巴旦．亞蘭去，到了亞蘭人彼土利的兒子拉班那裡。拉班就是雅各和以掃的母親利百加的哥哥。以掃見以撒給雅各祝福，又打發他到巴旦．亞蘭去，在那裡娶妻；又見以撒給雅各祝福的時候，吩咐他說：“你不可娶迦南的女子為妻”；

你見過辦事能幹的人嗎？他必侍立在君王面前，必不會侍立在低微的人面前。

守望的人說：“我看前頭那人的跑法好像撒督的兒子亞希瑪斯的跑法一樣。”王說：“他是個好人，必是帶好消息來的。”亞希瑪斯向王呼叫，說：“平安！”就臉伏於地，叩拜王，說：“耶和華你的神是應當稱頌的，因為他已經把舉手攻擊我主我王的人交給你了！”

鬼已經離開的那人求耶穌，要跟他在一起；但耶穌打發他回去，說：“你回家去，述說神為你作了怎樣的事。”他就走遍全城，傳講耶穌為他作了怎樣的事。
