“ Today I came to the spring. I said,‘ Lord, you are the God of my master Abraham. Please make me successful on this journey I’ve made.

“ I came today to the spring and said,‘ O Lord, the God of my master Abraham, if now you are prospering the way that I go,

“ So today when I came to the spring, I prayed this prayer:‘ O Lord, God of my master, Abraham, please give me success on this mission.

And I came this day unto the fountain, and said, O Jehovah, the God of my master Abraham, if now thou do prosper my way which I go:

“ Today when I came to the spring, I prayed: Lord, God of my master Abraham, if only You will make my journey successful!

And I came this day unto the well, and said, O LORD God of my master Abraham, if now thou do prosper my way which I go:

Lord, let your ear be attentive to the prayer of this your servant and to the prayer of your servants who delight in revering your name. Give your servant success today by granting him favor in the presence of this man.” I was cupbearer to the king.

Then he prayed,“ Lord, God of my master Abraham, make me successful today, and show kindness to my master Abraham.See, I am standing beside this spring, and the daughters of the townspeople are coming out to draw water.May it be that when I say to a young woman,‘ Please let down your jar that I may have a drink,’ and she says,‘ Drink, and I’ll water your camels too’— let her be the one you have chosen for your servant Isaac. By this I will know that you have shown kindness to my master.”

“ Come, you who are blessed by the Lord,” he said.“ Why are you standing out here? I have prepared the house and a place for the camels.”
