And my master made me take an oath. He said,‘ Do not allow my son to marry one of these local Canaanite women.

我主人要我起誓，说：‘你不可从我现在居住的迦南地中，为我的儿子娶迦南的女子为妻。

我主人要我起誓，说：‘你不可从我所住的迦南人之地，为我的儿子娶他们的女儿为妻；

我主人叫我起誓說：『你不要為我兒子娶迦南地的女子為妻。

我主人叫我起誓說：『不要為我兒子娶我所居住的迦南地的女子為妻。

我主人叫我起誓說：『不要為我兒子娶我所居住的迦南地的女子為妻。

主人要我起誓，他說，『你不可以給我的兒子娶迦南女子為妻，

我主人要我起誓，說：‘你不可從我現在居住的迦南地中，為我的兒子娶迦南的女子為妻。

我主人叫我起誓說：「我住在迦南人之地；你不要從迦南人的女子中給我兒子娶妻，

我主人要我起誓，說：『你不可從我所住的迦南人之地，為我的兒子娶他們的女兒為妻；

吾主令我誓曰、余居迦南、勿娶其女、為我子婦、

主令我誓云、我居迦南、其地之女、勿妻吾子。

主人令我誓云、毋為我子娶我所居迦南地之女為妻、或作我居迦南地毋為我子娶其地之女為妻

And my master made me swear an oath, and said,‘ You must not get a wife for my son from the daughters of the Canaanites, in whose land I live,

My master made me promise him. He said,‘ I’m living in the land of the people of Canaan. But promise me that you won’t get a wife for my son from their daughters.

My master made me swear, saying,‘ You shall not take a wife for my son from the daughters of the Canaanites, in whose land I dwell,

My master put me under this oath:‘ You will not take a wife for my son from the daughters of the Canaanites in whose land I live

My master made me swear, saying,‘ You shall not take a wife for my son from the daughters of the Canaanites, in whose land I live;

Now my master made me swear, saying,‘ You shall not take a wife for my son from the daughters of the Canaanites, in whose land I dwell;

And my master made me swear, saying, Thou shalt not take a wife for my son of the daughters of the Canaanites, in whose land I dwell:

My master put me under this oath:‘ You will not take a wife for my son from the daughters of the Canaanites in whose land I live

And my master made me swear, saying, Thou shalt not take a wife to my son of the daughters of the Canaanites, in whose land I dwell:

My master made me swear an oath. He said,‘ You must not acquire a wife for my son from the daughters of the Canaanites, among whom I am living,

My master made me swear, saying,‘ You shall not take a wife for my son from the daughters of the Canaanites, in whose land I live,

When these things had been done, the Jewish leaders came to me and said,“ Many of the people of Israel, and even some of the priests and Levites, have not kept themselves separate from the other peoples living in the land. They have taken up the detestable practices of the Canaanites, Hittites, Perizzites, Jebusites, Ammonites, Moabites, Egyptians, and Amorites.For the men of Israel have married women from these people and have taken them as wives for their sons. So the holy race has become polluted by these mixed marriages. Worse yet, the leaders and officials have led the way in this outrage.”When I heard this, I tore my cloak and my shirt, pulled hair from my head and beard, and sat down utterly shocked.

One day Abraham said to his oldest servant, the man in charge of his household,“ Take an oath by putting your hand under my thigh.Swear by the Lord, the God of heaven and earth, that you will not allow my son to marry one of these local Canaanite women.Go instead to my homeland, to my relatives, and find a wife there for my son Isaac.”The servant asked,“ But what if I can’t find a young woman who is willing to travel so far from home? Should I then take Isaac there to live among your relatives in the land you came from?”“ No!” Abraham responded.“ Be careful never to take my son there.For the Lord, the God of heaven, who took me from my father’s house and my native land, solemnly promised to give this land to my descendants. He will send his angel ahead of you, and he will see to it that you find a wife there for my son.If she is unwilling to come back with you, then you are free from this oath of mine. But under no circumstances are you to take my son there.”So the servant took an oath by putting his hand under the thigh of his master, Abraham. He swore to follow Abraham’s instructions.

Then Rebekah said to Isaac,“ I’m sick and tired of these local Hittite women! I would rather die than see Jacob marry one of them.”

The sons of God saw the beautiful women and took any they wanted as their wives.
