耶稣说：“你判断得对！”随后转向那女人，继续对西门说：“你看见这女人了吗？我到你家里来，你没有拿水给我洗脚，这女人却用她的眼泪洗我的脚，还亲自用头发擦干。

并且在善事上有好名声，如教养儿女、接待外人、服侍圣徒、救助困苦、竭力做各种善事。

就离席站起来，脱了外衣，把毛巾束在腰间，然后倒了一盆水为门徒洗脚，用束在腰间的毛巾擦干。轮到西门·彼得的时候，他说：“主啊！你要洗我的脚吗？”耶稣回答说：“我这样做，你现在虽然不明白，将来一定会明白。”彼得说：“你绝对不可以洗我的脚。”耶稣说：“如果我不洗你的脚，你就和我没有关系了。”西门·彼得说：“主啊，不只我的脚，连我的手和头也帮我洗吧。”耶稣说：“洗过澡的人全身是干净的，只要洗洗脚就好了。你们是干净的，但不是每一个都干净。”因为耶稣知道谁要出卖祂，所以说：“你们不是每一个都干净。”耶稣给门徒洗完了脚，便穿上外衣再次坐下来，然后问道：“我为你们做的，你们明白吗？你们称呼我‘老师’，也称呼我‘主’，你们称呼得对，因为我是。我是你们的老师又是你们的主，尚且给你们洗脚，你们更应当彼此洗脚。

亚比该听了，立刻俯伏在地上说：“婢女愿意效劳，为我主的仆人洗脚。”
