就賞識他，讓他服侍自己，派他管理自己家中一切事務。自從埃及人波提乏派約瑟管理自己家中一切事務以後，耶和華因為約瑟的緣故而賜福他主人家，使他主人家裡和田間的一切都蒙福。於是，波提乏把一切事都交給約瑟管理，除了自己要吃的食物以外，什麼也不管。約瑟體格健壯，相貌英俊。

亞伯蘭說：「主耶和華啊，你要賜我什麼呢？我沒有兒子，繼承我家業的人是大馬士革人以利以謝。」

那些善於管理教會的長老，尤其是那些辛勤傳道和教導人的，理當得到加倍的尊敬和報酬。

眾首領、勇士以及大衛王的眾子都效忠於他。

於是，老總管就把手放在他主人亞伯拉罕的大腿底下，為這事向他起誓。老總管帶著主人的十匹駱駝和各種上好的禮物，啟程前往美索不達米亞，來到拿鶴住的城。

約瑟吩咐管家說：「給他們的口袋裝滿糧食，他們能帶多少就裝多少，把各人的錢放回他們的口袋中，

約瑟拒絕了她，說：「我主人信任我，把家裡一切事都交給我管理。在這家裡，沒有人比我權力更大了，我主人把一切都交給了我，唯獨你除外，因為你是他的妻子。我怎能做這種醜事得罪上帝呢？」
