亚伯兰说：“主耶和华啊，你要赐我什么呢？我没有儿子，继承我家业的人是大马士革人以利以谢。”

那些善于管理教会的长老，尤其是那些辛勤传道和教导人的，理当得到加倍的尊敬和报酬。

众首领、勇士以及大卫王的众子都效忠于他。

于是，老总管就把手放在他主人亚伯拉罕的大腿底下，为这事向他起誓。老总管带着主人的十匹骆驼和各种上好的礼物，启程前往美索不达米亚，来到拿鹤住的城。

约瑟吩咐管家说：“给他们的口袋装满粮食，他们能带多少就装多少，把各人的钱放回他们的口袋中，

约瑟拒绝了她，说：“我主人信任我，把家里一切事都交给我管理。在这家里，没有人比我权力更大了，我主人把一切都交给了我，唯独你除外，因为你是他的妻子。我怎能做这种丑事得罪上帝呢？”
