Let it happen, that the young lady to whom I will say,‘ Please let down your pitcher, that I may drink,’ then she says,‘ Drink, and I will also give your camels a drink,’— let her be the one you have appointed for your servant Isaac. By this I will know that you have shown kindness to my master.”

我向哪一个少女说：‘请你放下水瓶来，给我水喝’，她若说：‘请喝！我也给你的骆驼喝’，愿她作你所选定给你仆人以撒的妻。这样，我就知道你施恩给我的主人了。”

我向哪一个少女说：‘请你放下水瓶来，给我水喝’，她若说：‘请喝！我也给你的骆驼喝’，愿她作你所选定给你仆人以撒的妻。这样，我就知道你施恩给我的主人了。”

如果我对哪个少女说‘请放下你的水罐，让我喝点水’，如果她说‘请喝，我也打水给你的骆驼喝’，愿那女子做你为自己的仆人以撒选定的妻子。这样，我可以知道你施恩给我的主人了。”

我对哪一个少女说：‘请你放下水瓶来，让我喝点水。’如果她回答：‘请喝，我也给你的骆驼喝。’愿那少女就作你选定给你仆人以撒的妻子。这样，我就知道你施慈爱给我的主人了。”

我对哪个少女说：‘请放下你的罐子，让我喝点水’；如果那个少女说：‘请喝吧，我也给你的骆驼喝’——愿她就是你为你的仆人以撒指定的那位。这样我就知道你确实向我主人施慈爱了。”

我向那一個女子說：『請你拿下水瓶來，給我水喝。』她若說：『請喝！我也給你的駱駝喝。』願那女子就作你所預定給你僕人以撒的妻。這樣，我便知道你施恩給我主人了。」

我向哪一個少女說：「請放下你的水瓶來，給我水喝」；她若說：「請喝；我也要給你的駱駝喝」，願那少女就做你所審定給你僕人以撒的妻子；這樣、我便知道你施慈愛給我主人了。』

我對哪個少女說『請放下你的罐子，讓我喝點水』，如果那個少女說『請喝吧，我也給你的駱駝喝』，願她就是你為你的僕人以撒指定的那位。這樣我就知道你確實向我主人施慈愛了。」

我將謂一女曰、請爾下缾飲我、彼若云請飲、亦飲爾駝、則願其女為爾所定、與爾僕以撒為妻、由此可知爾施恩於我主、

倘其中有一女、我告之、授汲器以飲我、彼云、請飲、亦飲爾駝、則其女為爾所定、與爾僕以撒為室、由此可知、爾施恩於我主。

我將求一女曰、請欹瓶予我飲、彼若云請飲、我亦飲爾駝、則其女為主所定、與主之僕以撒為妻、由此我可知主施恩於我主人、

May it be that when I say to a young woman,‘ Please let down your jar that I may have a drink,’ and she says,‘ Drink, and I’ll water your camels too’— let her be the one you have chosen for your servant Isaac. By this I will know that you have shown kindness to my master.”

I will speak to a young woman. I’ll say to her,‘ Please lower your jar so I can have a drink.’ Suppose she says,‘ Have a drink of water, and I’ll get some for your camels too.’ Then let her be the one you have chosen for your servant Isaac. That’s how I’ll know you have been kind to my master.”

Let the young woman to whom I shall say,‘ Please let down your jar that I may drink,’ and who shall say,‘ Drink, and I will water your camels’— let her be the one whom you have appointed for your servant Isaac. By this I shall know that you have shown steadfast love to my master.”

This is my request. I will ask one of them,‘ Please give me a drink from your jug.’ If she says,‘ Yes, have a drink, and I will water your camels, too!’— let her be the one you have selected as Isaac’s wife. This is how I will know that you have shown unfailing love to my master.”

Let the girl to whom I say,‘ Please lower your water jug so that I may drink,’ and who responds,‘ Drink, and I’ll water your camels also’— let her be the one you have appointed for your servant Isaac. By this I will know that you have shown kindness to my master.”

now may it be that the young woman to whom I say,‘ Please let down your jar so that I may drink,’ and who answers,‘ Drink, and I will water your camels also’— may she be the one whom You have appointed for Your servant Isaac; and by this I will know that You have shown kindness to my master.”

Now let it be that the young woman to whom I say,‘ Please let down your pitcher that I may drink,’ and she says,‘ Drink, and I will also give your camels a drink’— let her be the one You have appointed for Your servant Isaac. And by this I will know that You have shown kindness to my master.”

and let it come to pass, that the damsel to whom I shall say, Let down thy pitcher, I pray thee, that I may drink; and she shall say, Drink, and I will give thy camels drink also: let the same be she that thou hast appointed for thy servant Isaac; and thereby shall I know that thou hast showed kindness unto my master.

behold, I will put a fleece of wool on the threshing floor. If there is dew on the fleece only, and it is dry on all the ground, then I’ll know that you will save Israel by my hand, as you have spoken.”

He said to him,“ If now I have found favor in your sight, then show me a sign that it is you who talk with me.

He said,“ Lord Yahweh, how will I know that I will inherit it?”

“ Ask a sign of Yahweh your God; ask it either in the depth, or in the height above.”

Moses answered,“ But, behold, they will not believe me, nor listen to my voice; for they will say,‘ Yahweh has not appeared to you.’”Yahweh said to him,“ What is that in your hand?” He said,“ A rod.”He said,“ Throw it on the ground.” He threw it on the ground, and it became a snake; and Moses ran away from it.Yahweh said to Moses,“ Stretch out your hand, and take it by the tail.” He stretched out his hand, and took hold of it, and it became a rod in his hand.“ This is so that they may believe that Yahweh, the God of their fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has appeared to you.”Yahweh said furthermore to him,“ Now put your hand inside your cloak.” He put his hand inside his cloak, and when he took it out, behold, his hand was leprous, as white as snow.He said,“ Put your hand inside your cloak again.” He put his hand inside his cloak again, and when he took it out of his cloak, behold, it had turned again as his other flesh.“ It will happen, if they will not believe you or listen to the voice of the first sign, that they will believe the voice of the latter sign.It will happen, if they will not believe even these two signs or listen to your voice, that you shall take of the water of the river, and pour it on the dry land. The water which you take out of the river will become blood on the dry land.”

then she tells me,“ Drink, and I will also draw for your camels,”— let her be the woman whom Yahweh has appointed for my master’s son.’

Hezekiah said to Isaiah,“ What will be the sign that Yahweh will heal me, and that I will go up to Yahweh’s house the third day?”Isaiah said,“ This will be the sign to you from Yahweh, that Yahweh will do the thing that he has spoken: should the shadow go forward ten steps, or go back ten steps?”Hezekiah answered,“ It is a light thing for the shadow to go forward ten steps. No, but let the shadow return backward ten steps.”Isaiah the prophet cried to Yahweh; and he brought the shadow ten steps backward, by which it had gone down on the sundial of Ahaz.

Then Jonathan said,“ Behold, we will pass over to the men, and we will reveal ourselves to them.If they say this to us,‘ Wait until we come to you!’ then we will stand still in our place, and will not go up to them.But if they say this,‘ Come up to us!’ then we will go up; for Yahweh has delivered them into our hand. This shall be the sign to us.”

If he says,‘ It is well,’ your servant shall have peace; but if he is angry, then know that evil is determined by him.

requesting, if by any means now at last I may be prospered by the will of God to come to you.

When you hear the sound of marching in the tops of the mulberry trees, then stir yourself up; for then Yahweh has gone out before you to strike the army of the Philistines.”

House and riches are an inheritance from fathers, but a prudent wife is from Yahweh.

When you have departed from me today, then you will find two men by Rachel’s tomb, on the border of Benjamin at Zelzah. They will tell you,‘ The donkeys which you went to look for have been found; and behold, your father has stopped caring about the donkeys, and is anxious for you, saying,“ What shall I do for my son?”’“ Then you will go on forward from there, and you will come to the oak of Tabor. Three men will meet you there going up to God to Bethel, one carrying three young goats, and another carrying three loaves of bread, and another carrying a container of wine.They will greet you, and give you two loaves of bread, which you shall receive from their hand.“ After that you will come to the hill of God, where the garrison of the Philistines is; and it will happen, when you have come there to the city, that you will meet a band of prophets coming down from the high place with a lute, a tambourine, a pipe, and a harp before them; and they will be prophesying.Then Yahweh’s Spirit will come mightily on you, and you will prophesy with them, and will be turned into another man.Let it be, when these signs have come to you, that you do what is appropriate for the occasion; for God is with you.“ Go down ahead of me to Gilgal; and behold, I will come down to you, to offer burnt offerings, and to sacrifice sacrifices of peace offerings. Wait seven days, until I come to you, and show you what you are to do.”It was so, that when he had turned his back to go from Samuel, God gave him another heart; and all those signs happened that day.When they came there to the hill, behold, a band of prophets met him; and the Spirit of God came mightily on him, and he prophesied among them.

When Gideon had come, behold, there was a man telling a dream to his fellow. He said,“ Behold, I dreamed a dream; and behold, a cake of barley bread tumbled into the camp of Midian, came to the tent, and struck it so that it fell, and turned it upside down, so that the tent lay flat.”His fellow answered,“ This is nothing other than the sword of Gideon the son of Joash, a man of Israel. God has delivered Midian into his hand, with all the army.”It was so, when Gideon heard the telling of the dream and its interpretation, that he worshiped. Then he returned into the camp of Israel and said,“ Arise, for Yahweh has delivered the army of Midian into your hand!”

Joab said to Amasa,“ Is it well with you, my brother?” Joab took Amasa by the beard with his right hand to kiss him.

They said to him,“ Please ask counsel of God, that we may know whether our way which we go shall be prosperous.”

“ Now therefore take and prepare yourselves a new cart and two milk cows on which there has come no yoke; and tie the cows to the cart, and bring their calves home from them;and take Yahweh’s ark and lay it on the cart. Put the jewels of gold, which you return him for a trespass offering, in a box by its side; and send it away, that it may go.Behold, if it goes up by the way of its own border to Beth Shemesh, then he has done us this great evil; but if not, then we shall know that it is not his hand that struck us. It was a chance that happened to us.”
