倘其中有一女、我告之、授汲器以飲我、彼云、請飲、亦飲爾駝、則其女為爾所定、與爾僕以撒為室、由此可知、爾施恩於我主。

我將求一女曰、請欹瓶予我飲、彼若云請飲、我亦飲爾駝、則其女為主所定、與主之僕以撒為妻、由此我可知主施恩於我主人、

I will speak to a young woman. I’ll say to her,‘ Please lower your jar so I can have a drink.’ Suppose she says,‘ Have a drink of water, and I’ll get some for your camels too.’ Then let her be the one you have chosen for your servant Isaac. That’s how I’ll know you have been kind to my master.”

Let the young woman to whom I shall say,‘ Please let down your jar that I may drink,’ and who shall say,‘ Drink, and I will water your camels’— let her be the one whom you have appointed for your servant Isaac. By this I shall know that you have shown steadfast love to my master.”

This is my request. I will ask one of them,‘ Please give me a drink from your jug.’ If she says,‘ Yes, have a drink, and I will water your camels, too!’— let her be the one you have selected as Isaac’s wife. This is how I will know that you have shown unfailing love to my master.”

Let the girl to whom I say,‘ Please lower your water jug so that I may drink,’ and who responds,‘ Drink, and I’ll water your camels also’— let her be the one you have appointed for your servant Isaac. By this I will know that you have shown kindness to my master.”

now may it be that the young woman to whom I say,‘ Please let down your jar so that I may drink,’ and who answers,‘ Drink, and I will water your camels also’— may she be the one whom You have appointed for Your servant Isaac; and by this I will know that You have shown kindness to my master.”

Now let it be that the young woman to whom I say,‘ Please let down your pitcher that I may drink,’ and she says,‘ Drink, and I will also give your camels a drink’— let her be the one You have appointed for Your servant Isaac. And by this I will know that You have shown kindness to my master.”

look, I will place a wool fleece on the threshing floor. If there is dew only on the fleece and all the ground is dry, then I will know that you will save Israel by my hand, as you said.”

Gideon replied,“ If now I have found favor in your eyes, give me a sign that it is really you talking to me.

But Abram said,“ Sovereign Lord, how can I know that I will gain possession of it?”

“ Ask the Lord your God for a sign, whether in the deepest depths or in the highest heights.”

So Moses put his hand back into his cloak, and when he took it out, it was restored, like the rest of his flesh.Then the Lord said,“ If they do not believe you or pay attention to the first sign, they may believe the second.But if they do not believe these two signs or listen to you, take some water from the Nile and pour it on the dry ground. The water you take from the river will become blood on the ground.”

and if she says to me,“ Drink, and I’ll draw water for your camels too,” let her be the one the Lord has chosen for my master’s son.’

Hezekiah had asked Isaiah,“ What will be the sign that the Lord will heal me and that I will go up to the temple of the Lord on the third day from now?”Isaiah answered,“ This is the Lord’s sign to you that the Lord will do what he has promised: Shall the shadow go forward ten steps, or shall it go back ten steps?”“ It is a simple matter for the shadow to go forward ten steps,” said Hezekiah.“ Rather, have it go back ten steps.”Then the prophet Isaiah called on the Lord, and the Lord made the shadow go back the ten steps it had gone down on the stairway of Ahaz.

Jonathan said,“ Come on, then; we will cross over toward them and let them see us.If they say to us,‘ Wait there until we come to you,’ we will stay where we are and not go up to them.But if they say,‘ Come up to us,’ we will climb up, because that will be our sign that the Lord has given them into our hands.”

It struck the tent with such force that the tent overturned and collapsed.”His friend responded,“ This can be nothing other than the sword of Gideon son of Joash, the Israelite. God has given the Midianites and the whole camp into his hands.”When Gideon heard the dream and its interpretation, he bowed down and worshiped. He returned to the camp of Israel and called out,“ Get up! The Lord has given the Midianite camp into your hands.”

Joab said to Amasa,“ How are you, my brother?” Then Joab took Amasa by the beard with his right hand to kiss him.

Then they said to him,“ Please inquire of God to learn whether our journey will be successful.”

“ Now then, get a new cart ready, with two cows that have calved and have never been yoked. Hitch the cows to the cart, but take their calves away and pen them up.Take the ark of the Lord and put it on the cart, and in a chest beside it put the gold objects you are sending back to him as a guilt offering. Send it on its way,but keep watching it. If it goes up to its own territory, toward Beth Shemesh, then the Lord has brought this great disaster on us. But if it does not, then we will know that it was not his hand that struck us but that it happened to us by chance.”
