吾主請聽、爾在我中、為有能之牧伯、在我塚地間、擇其佳者、以葬其尸。我中必無人禁爾。

吾主請聽、爾在我中為尊大之牧伯、請於我塋地間、擇其佳者、以葬爾之死者、我中必無人禁爾葬爾死者於其塋地、

“ Sir, listen to us. You are a mighty prince among us. Bury your dead in the choicest of our tombs. None of us will refuse you his tomb for burying your dead.”

耶和華大大祝福我主人，使他昌大起來，又賜給他羊群、牛群、銀子、金子、男僕、婢女、駱駝和驢子。

亞伯蘭聽說他的侄子被擄走了，就出動家裡生養的、訓練有素的家丁三百一十八人，一直追到但。

撒拉暗笑，心裡說：「我已經衰老，我的丈夫也老了，我還能有這等快樂嗎？」

他們對他說：「不是啊，我主！你的僕人們實在是來買糧的。

你就回答：『是你僕人雅各的，是送給我主以掃的禮物。看哪，他自己也在我們後面。』」

這不是我主人喝酒的杯子嗎？要知道，我主人必定會用它來占卜。你們這樣做就是作惡了！』」

那時亞伯蘭擁有極多的牲畜和金銀。

雅各吩咐他們說：「你們要對我主以掃這樣說：『你的僕人雅各如此說：「我在拉班那裡寄居，滯留到現在。我有牛、驢、羊群、男僕和婢女；我派人來告訴我主，為要在你眼前蒙恩。」』」

她說：「我主，請喝吧。」然後急忙拿下罐子，托在自己手上給他喝。

拉結對她父親說：「請我主不要惱火，我不能在你面前起來，因為我正有月事。」拉班搜來搜去，卻沒有找到家族神像。

在那段時期，亞比米勒和他軍隊的首領非革對亞伯拉罕說：「在你所做的一切事上，神都與你同在。

路得說：「我主啊，願我在你眼前蒙恩！我雖然不及你的一個婢女，你還安慰我，對你的婢女說安心話。」

耶和華如此說：「埃及的辛苦所得、庫實的盈利所得、身材高大的西巴人，都必來到你這裡、歸屬你；他們必戴著鎖鏈來跟隨你，向你下拜，向你承認說：『神真是在你們中間，別無其二，沒有別的神！』」

看哪，我們先前在袋子口發現的銀子，尚且從迦南地帶回來給你，我們怎麼會從你主人的家偷竊金銀呢？
