亞勞拿看見王及他的臣僕來了，就上前俯伏在地，向王跪拜，說：「我主我王到僕人這裡有什麼事？」大衛說：「我要買你的麥場，好在這裡為耶和華築一座壇，使百姓當中的瘟疫止住。」亞勞拿說：「我主我王喜歡什麼，就拿去獻祭吧。這裡有牛可以作燔祭，還有麥場的工具和牛軛可以作柴。王啊，僕人亞勞拿願意把這一切都獻給你，願你的上帝耶和華悅納你。」王卻說：「不可，我一定要出錢買，我不願意用白白得來之物作為燔祭獻給我的上帝耶和華。」大衛就用六百克銀子買了亞勞拿的麥場和牛。

『看啊，你叔父沙龍的兒子哈拿篾會去找你，讓你買下他在亞拿突的那塊田地，說你是他的近親，理當買下它。』」果然如耶和華所言，我堂兄弟哈拿篾到護衛兵的院子裡對我說：「我在便雅憫境內的亞拿突有一塊田，求你買下它，因為你理當買下它。求你買下吧！」我知道這是耶和華的旨意。於是，我從堂兄弟哈拿篾手裡買了亞拿突的那塊田。我當著證人的面簽訂了契約，封好，秤了二百克銀子給他。

波阿斯來到城門口，坐在那裡，恰巧看見他所說的那位至親經過，便招呼他說：「某人啊，請過來坐一坐。」那人便走過來坐下。

「如果人犯了什麼罪或有什麼過失，不可憑一個證人作證就定罪，要有兩三個證人才可以定案。

我想應該讓你知道這件事。你最有權贖那塊地，其次才是我，此外再沒有別人了。如果你願意贖回那塊地，希望你當著在座各位長老的面表明。如果不願意，請你讓我知道。」那人說：「我願意贖。」

聚集在城門口的眾人和長老都說：「我們願意作證。願耶和華使要進你家門的這女子，像建立以色列家的拉結和利亞一樣。願你在以法他家業興隆，在伯利恆聲名遠播。

大衛對他說：「請你將這塊麥場賣給我，我要在這裡為耶和華築一座祭壇，好止住民間的瘟疫。你全價賣給我吧。」阿珥楠說：「我主我王只管用我的麥場！我願獻出牛作燔祭，打麥的器具作柴，麥子作素祭，我願獻出這一切。」大衛王說：「不可，我一定要付你全價，我不能拿你的東西獻給耶和華，不能把白白得來的獻作燔祭。」

波阿斯向長老和所有在場的人說：「請各位今天為我作證，所有屬於以利米勒、基連和瑪倫的產業，我都從拿俄米手上買了。

「『倘若有人被控謀殺，必須有幾個人作證才可以處死他，不可憑一個人的證詞處死他。

「接著，他吩咐站在旁邊的奴僕，『收回他那一千個銀幣，賞給那個賺了一萬銀幣的。』

高尚的人計劃高尚的事，在高尚的事上持之以恆。

「我主，請聽我們說，你在我們中間是一位尊貴的王子，你可以選我們這裡最好的墳地，沒有人會反對你使用他的墳地埋葬你的妻子。」

但你們不可單憑一個證人便處死那人，要有兩三個證人方可處死他。

都歸了亞伯拉罕。這是在城門口的赫人面前買下的。
