把他兒子啟示在我心裏，讓我在外邦人中傳揚他，我就沒有跟有血有肉的人商量，

因着信，亞伯拉罕蒙召的時候就遵命出去，往將來要承受為基業的地方去；他出去的時候還不知往哪裏去。

亞伯拉罕清早起來，拿餅和一皮袋水，給了夏甲，搭在她肩上，把她和孩子一起送走。夏甲就走了，但她卻在別是巴的曠野流浪。

堅心倚賴你的，你必保守他十分平安，因為他倚靠你。你們當倚靠耶和華，直到永遠，因為耶和華，耶和華是永遠的磐石。

彼得就對他說：「看哪，我們已經撇下一切跟從你了。」耶穌說：「我實在告訴你們，凡為我和福音撇下房屋，或是兄弟、姊妹、父親、母親、兒女、田地，沒有不在今世得百倍的，就是房屋、兄弟、姊妹、母親、兒女、田地，並且要受迫害，在來世得永生。然而，有許多在前的，將要在後；在後的，將要在前。」

愛父母勝過愛我的，不配作我的門徒；愛兒女勝過愛我的，不配作我的門徒。

凡你手所當做的事，要盡力去做；因為在你所必須去的陰間沒有工作，沒有謀算，沒有知識，也沒有智慧。

因着信，亞伯拉罕被考驗的時候把以撒獻上，這就是那領受了應許的人甘心把自己獨生的兒子獻上。論到這兒子，神曾說：「從以撒生的才要稱為你的後裔。」他認為神甚至能使人從死人中復活，意味着他得回了他的兒子。

在那一天，亞伯拉罕遵照神所說的，給他的兒子以實瑪利和家裏所有的男丁，無論是在家裏生的，或是用銀子買來的，都行了割禮。
