必賜福於爾、使爾後裔眾多、如天上之星、如海濱之沙、爾後裔必得敵之城邑為業、

I will surely bless you and make your descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and as the sand on the seashore. Your descendants will take possession of the cities of their enemies,

So I will certainly bless you. I will make the children born into your family as many as the stars in the sky. I will make them as many as the grains of sand on the seashore. They will take over the cities of their enemies.

I will surely bless you, and I will surely multiply your offspring as the stars of heaven and as the sand that is on the seashore. And your offspring shall possess the gate of his enemies,

I will certainly bless you. I will multiply your descendants beyond number, like the stars in the sky and the sand on the seashore. Your descendants will conquer the cities of their enemies.

Then He brought him outside and said,“ Look now toward heaven, and count the stars if you are able to number them.” And He said to him,“ So shall your descendants be.”

And I will make your descendants as the dust of the earth; so that if a man could number the dust of the earth, then your descendants also could be numbered.

And they blessed Rebekah and said to her:“ Our sister, may you become The mother of thousands of ten thousands; And may your descendants possess The gates of those who hate them.”

And I will make your descendants multiply as the stars of heaven; I will give to your descendants all these lands; and in your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed;

As the host of heaven cannot be numbered, nor the sand of the sea measured, so will I multiply the descendants of David My servant and the Levites who minister to Me.’”

Ask of Me, and I will give You The nations for Your inheritance, And the ends of the earth for Your possession.You shall break them with a rod of iron; You shall dash them to pieces like a potter’s vessel.’”

The Lord your God has multiplied you, and here you are today, as the stars of heaven in multitude.

After the death of Moses the servant of the Lord, it came to pass that the Lord spoke to Joshua the son of Nun, Moses’ assistant, saying:“ Moses My servant is dead. Now therefore, arise, go over this Jordan, you and all this people, to the land which I am giving to them— the children of Israel.Every place that the sole of your foot will tread upon I have given you, as I said to Moses.From the wilderness and this Lebanon as far as the great river, the River Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites, and to the Great Sea toward the going down of the sun, shall be your territory.No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life; as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not leave you nor forsake you.Be strong and of good courage, for to this people you shall divide as an inheritance the land which I swore to their fathers to give them.Only be strong and very courageous, that you may observe to do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may prosper wherever you go.This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”Then Joshua commanded the officers of the people, saying,

He shall have dominion also from sea to sea, And from the River to the ends of the earth.Those who dwell in the wilderness will bow before Him, And His enemies will lick the dust.

“ I see Him, but not now; I behold Him, but not near; A Star shall come out of Jacob; A Scepter shall rise out of Israel, And batter the brow of Moab, And destroy all the sons of tumult.“ And Edom shall be a possession; Seir also, his enemies, shall be a possession, While Israel does valiantly.Out of Jacob One shall have dominion, And destroy the remains of the city.”

For You said,‘ I will surely treat you well, and make your descendants as the sand of the sea, which cannot be numbered for multitude.’”

Then the seventh angel sounded: And there were loud voices in heaven, saying,“ The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever!”

And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, because you obey the voice of the Lord your God:“ Blessed shall you be in the city, and blessed shall you be in the country.“ Blessed shall be the fruit of your body, the produce of your ground and the increase of your herds, the increase of your cattle and the offspring of your flocks.“ Blessed shall be your basket and your kneading bowl.“ Blessed shall you be when you come in, and blessed shall you be when you go out.“ The Lord will cause your enemies who rise against you to be defeated before your face; they shall come out against you one way and flee before you seven ways.“ The Lord will command the blessing on you in your storehouses and in all to which you set your hand, and He will bless you in the land which the Lord your God is giving you.“ The Lord will establish you as a holy people to Himself, just as He has sworn to you, if you keep the commandments of the Lord your God and walk in His ways.Then all peoples of the earth shall see that you are called by the name of the Lord, and they shall be afraid of you.And the Lord will grant you plenty of goods, in the fruit of your body, in the increase of your livestock, and in the produce of your ground, in the land of which the Lord swore to your fathers to give you.The Lord will open to you His good treasure, the heavens, to give the rain to your land in its season, and to bless all the work of your hand. You shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow.And the Lord will make you the head and not the tail; you shall be above only, and not be beneath, if you heed the commandments of the Lord your God, which I command you today, and are careful to observe them.

“ Blessed is the Lord God of Israel, For He has visited and redeemed His people,And has raised up a horn of salvation for us in the house of His servant David,As He spoke by the mouth of His holy prophets, Who have been since the world began,That we should be saved from our enemies and from the hand of all who hate us,To perform the mercy promised to our fathers and to remember His holy covenant,The oath which He swore to our father Abraham:To grant us that we, Being delivered from the hand of our enemies, Might serve Him without fear,In holiness and righteousness before Him all the days of our life.

But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

By the God of your father who will help you, And by the Almighty who will bless you With blessings of heaven above, Blessings of the deep that lies beneath, Blessings of the breasts and of the womb.The blessings of your father Have excelled the blessings of my ancestors, Up to the utmost bound of the everlasting hills. They shall be on the head of Joseph, And on the crown of the head of him who was separate from his brothers.

Therefore may God give you Of the dew of heaven, Of the fatness of the earth, And plenty of grain and wine.Let peoples serve you, And nations bow down to you. Be master over your brethren, And let your mother’s sons bow down to you. Cursed be everyone who curses you, And blessed be those who bless you!”

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ,

You have given them this land, of which You swore to their fathers to give them—“ a land flowing with milk and honey.”

“ May God Almighty bless you, And make you fruitful and multiply you, That you may be an assembly of peoples;

I will make you a great nation; I will bless you And make your name great; And you shall be a blessing.

King Solomon also built a fleet of ships at Ezion Geber, which is near Elath on the shore of the Red Sea, in the land of Edom.

After this it came to pass that David attacked the Philistines and subdued them. And David took Metheg Ammah from the hand of the Philistines.Then he defeated Moab. Forcing them down to the ground, he measured them off with a line. With two lines he measured off those to be put to death, and with one full line those to be kept alive. So the Moabites became David’s servants, and brought tribute.David also defeated Hadadezer the son of Rehob, king of Zobah, as he went to recover his territory at the River Euphrates.David took from him one thousand chariots, seven hundred horsemen, and twenty thousand foot soldiers. Also David hamstrung all the chariot horses, except that he spared enough of them for one hundred chariots.When the Syrians of Damascus came to help Hadadezer king of Zobah, David killed twenty-two thousand of the Syrians.Then David put garrisons in Syria of Damascus; and the Syrians became David’s servants, and brought tribute. So the Lord preserved David wherever he went.And David took the shields of gold that had belonged to the servants of Hadadezer, and brought them to Jerusalem.Also from Betah and from Berothai, cities of Hadadezer, King David took a large amount of bronze.When Toi king of Hamath heard that David had defeated all the army of Hadadezer,then Toi sent Joram his son to King David, to greet him and bless him, because he had fought against Hadadezer and defeated him( for Hadadezer had been at war with Toi); and Joram brought with him articles of silver, articles of gold, and articles of bronze.King David also dedicated these to the Lord, along with the silver and gold that he had dedicated from all the nations which he had subdued—from Syria, from Moab, from the people of Ammon, from the Philistines, from Amalek, and from the spoil of Hadadezer the son of Rehob, king of Zobah.And David made himself a name when he returned from killing eighteen thousand Syrians in the Valley of Salt.He also put garrisons in Edom; throughout all Edom he put garrisons, and all the Edomites became David’s servants. And the Lord preserved David wherever he went.So David reigned over all Israel; and David administered judgment and justice to all his people.Joab the son of Zeruiah was over the army; Jehoshaphat the son of Ahilud was recorder;Zadok the son of Ahitub and Ahimelech the son of Abiathar were the priests; Seraiah was the scribe;Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was over both the Cherethites and the Pelethites; and David’s sons were chief ministers.

I will make you exceedingly fruitful; and I will make nations of you, and kings shall come from you.

then his father and his mother shall take hold of him and bring him out to the elders of his city, to the gate of his city.

For her wounds are incurable. For it has come to Judah; It has come to the gate of My people— To Jerusalem.

Also your descendants shall be as the dust of the earth; you shall spread abroad to the west and the east, to the north and the south; and in you and in your seed all the families of the earth shall be blessed.Behold, I am with you and will keep you wherever you go, and will bring you back to this land; for I will not leave you until I have done what I have spoken to you.”Then Jacob awoke from his sleep and said,“ Surely the Lord is in this place, and I did not know it.”And he was afraid and said,“ How awesome is this place! This is none other than the house of God, and this is the gate of heaven!”Then Jacob rose early in the morning, and took the stone that he had put at his head, set it up as a pillar, and poured oil on top of it.And he called the name of that place Bethel; but the name of that city had been Luz previously.Then Jacob made a vow, saying,“ If God will be with me, and keep me in this way that I am going, and give me bread to eat and clothing to put on,so that I come back to my father’s house in peace, then the Lord shall be my God.And this stone which I have set as a pillar shall be God’s house, and of all that You give me I will surely give a tenth to You.”

It happened after this that the king of the people of Ammon died, and Hanun his son reigned in his place.Then David said,“ I will show kindness to Hanun the son of Nahash, as his father showed kindness to me.” So David sent by the hand of his servants to comfort him concerning his father. And David’s servants came into the land of the people of Ammon.And the princes of the people of Ammon said to Hanun their Lord,“ Do you think that David really honors your father because he has sent comforters to you? Has David not rather sent his servants to you to search the city, to spy it out, and to overthrow it?”Therefore Hanun took David’s servants, shaved off half of their beards, cut off their garments in the middle, at their buttocks, and sent them away.When they told David, he sent to meet them, because the men were greatly ashamed. And the king said,“ Wait at Jericho until your beards have grown, and then return.”When the people of Ammon saw that they had made themselves repulsive to David, the people of Ammon sent and hired the Syrians of Beth Rehob and the Syrians of Zoba, twenty thousand foot soldiers; and from the king of Maacah one thousand men, and from Ish-Tob twelve thousand men.Now when David heard of it, he sent Joab and all the army of the mighty men.Then the people of Ammon came out and put themselves in battle array at the entrance of the gate. And the Syrians of Zoba, Beth Rehob, Ish-Tob, and Maacah were by themselves in the field.When Joab saw that the battle line was against him before and behind, he chose some of Israel’s best and put them in battle array against the Syrians.And the rest of the people he put under the command of Abishai his brother, that he might set them in battle array against the people of Ammon.Then he said,“ If the Syrians are too strong for me, then you shall help me; but if the people of Ammon are too strong for you, then I will come and help you.Be of good courage, and let us be strong for our people and for the cities of our God. And may the Lord do what is good in His sight.”So Joab and the people who were with him drew near for the battle against the Syrians, and they fled before him.When the people of Ammon saw that the Syrians were fleeing, they also fled before Abishai, and entered the city. So Joab returned from the people of Ammon and went to Jerusalem.When the Syrians saw that they had been defeated by Israel, they gathered together.Then Hadadezer sent and brought out the Syrians who were beyond the River, and they came to Helam. And Shobach the commander of Hadadezer’s army went before them.When it was told David, he gathered all Israel, crossed over the Jordan, and came to Helam. And the Syrians set themselves in battle array against David and fought with him.Then the Syrians fled before Israel; and David killed seven hundred charioteers and forty thousand horsemen of the Syrians, and struck Shobach the commander of their army, who died there.And when all the kings who were servants to Hadadezer saw that they were defeated by Israel, they made peace with Israel and served them. So the Syrians were afraid to help the people of Ammon anymore.

And in the days of these kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom which shall never be destroyed; and the kingdom shall not be left to other people; it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand forever.Inasmuch as you saw that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it broke in pieces the iron, the bronze, the clay, the silver, and the gold— the great God has made known to the king what will come to pass after this. The dream is certain, and its interpretation is sure.”
