I will surely bless you and make your descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and as the sand on the seashore. Your descendants will take possession of the cities of their enemies,

So I will certainly bless you. I will make the children born into your family as many as the stars in the sky. I will make them as many as the grains of sand on the seashore. They will take over the cities of their enemies.

I will surely bless you, and I will surely multiply your offspring as the stars of heaven and as the sand that is on the seashore. And your offspring shall possess the gate of his enemies,

And he brought him forth abroad, and said, Look now toward heaven, and tell the stars, if thou be able to number them: and he said unto him, So shall thy seed be.

And I will make thy seed as the dust of the earth: so that if a man can number the dust of the earth,[ then] shall thy seed also be numbered.

And they blessed Rebekah, and said unto her, Thou[ art] our sister, be thou[ the mother] of thousands of millions, and let thy seed possess the gate of those which hate them.

As the host of heaven cannot be numbered, neither the sand of the sea measured: so will I multiply the seed of David my servant, and the Levites that minister unto me.

Blessed[ be] the Lord God of Israel; for he hath visited and redeemed his people,And hath raised up an horn of salvation for us in the house of his servant David;As he spake by the mouth of his holy prophets, which have been since the world began:That we should be saved from our enemies, and from the hand of all that hate us;To perform the mercy[ promised] to our fathers, and to remember his holy covenant;The oath which he sware to our father Abraham,That he would grant unto us, that we being delivered out of the hand of our enemies might serve him without fear,In holiness and righteousness before him, all the days of our life.

But thanks[ be] to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

[ Even] by the God of thy father, who shall help thee; and by the Almighty, who shall bless thee with blessings of heaven above, blessings of the deep that lieth under, blessings of the breasts, and of the womb:The blessings of thy father have prevailed above the blessings of my progenitors unto the utmost bound of the everlasting hills: they shall be on the head of Joseph, and on the crown of the head of him that was separate from his brethren.

Therefore God give thee of the dew of heaven, and the fatness of the earth, and plenty of corn and wine:Let people serve thee, and nations bow down to thee: be lord over thy brethren, and let thy mother’s sons bow down to thee: cursed[ be] every one that curseth thee, and blessed[ be] he that blesseth thee.

Blessed[ be] the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly[ places] in Christ:

And hast given them this land, which thou didst swear to their fathers to give them, a land flowing with milk and honey;

And God Almighty bless thee, and make thee fruitful, and multiply thee, that thou mayest be a multitude of people;

And[ so] the Moabites became David’s servants,[ and] brought gifts.David smote also Hadadezer, the son of Rehob, king of Zobah, as he went to recover his border at the river Euphrates.And David took from him a thousand[ chariots], and seven hundred horsemen, and twenty thousand footmen: and David houghed all the chariot[ horses], but reserved of them[ for] an hundred chariots.And when the Syrians of Damascus came to succour Hadadezer king of Zobah, David slew of the Syrians two and twenty thousand men.Then David put garrisons in Syria of Damascus: and the Syrians became servants to David,[ and] brought gifts. And the LORD preserved David whithersoever he went.And David took the shields of gold that were on the servants of Hadadezer, and brought them to Jerusalem.And from Betah, and from Berothai, cities of Hadadezer, king David took exceeding much brass.When Toi king of Hamath heard that David had smitten all the host of Hadadezer,Then Toi sent Joram his son unto king David, to salute him, and to bless him, because he had fought against Hadadezer, and smitten him: for Hadadezer had wars with Toi. And[ Joram] brought with him vessels of silver, and vessels of gold, and vessels of brass:Which also king David did dedicate unto the LORD, with the silver and gold that he had dedicated of all nations which he subdued;Of Syria, and of Moab, and of the children of Ammon, and of the Philistines, and of Amalek, and of the spoil of Hadadezer, son of Rehob, king of Zobah.And David gat[ him] a name when he returned from smiting of the Syrians in the valley of salt,[ being] eighteen thousand[ men].And he put garrisons in Edom; throughout all Edom put he garrisons, and all they of Edom became David’s servants. And the LORD preserved David whithersoever he went.And David reigned over all Israel; and David executed judgment and justice unto all his people.And Joab the son of Zeruiah[ was] over the host; and Jehoshaphat the son of Ahilud[ was] recorder;And Zadok the son of Ahitub, and Ahimelech the son of Abiathar,[ were] the priests; and Seraiah[ was] the scribe;And Benaiah the son of Jehoiada[ was over] both the Cherethites and the Pelethites; and David’s sons were chief rulers.

And I will make thee exceeding fruitful, and I will make nations of thee, and kings shall come out of thee.

Then shall his father and his mother lay hold on him, and bring him out unto the elders of his city, and unto the gate of his place;

For her wound[ is] incurable; for it is come unto Judah; he is come unto the gate of my people,[ even] to Jerusalem.

And thy seed shall be as the dust of the earth, and thou shalt spread abroad to the west, and to the east, and to the north, and to the south: and in thee and in thy seed shall all the families of the earth be blessed.And, behold, I[ am] with thee, and will keep thee in all[ places] whither thou goest, and will bring thee again into this land; for I will not leave thee, until I have done[ that] which I have spoken to thee of.And Jacob awaked out of his sleep, and he said, Surely the LORD is in this place; and I knew[ it] not.And he was afraid, and said, How dreadful[ is] this place! this[ is] none other but the house of God, and this[ is] the gate of heaven.And Jacob rose up early in the morning, and took the stone that he had put[ for] his pillows, and set it up[ for] a pillar, and poured oil upon the top of it.And he called the name of that place Bethel: but the name of that city[ was called] Luz at the first.And Jacob vowed a vow, saying, If God will be with me, and will keep me in this way that I go, and will give me bread to eat, and raiment to put on,So that I come again to my father’s house in peace; then shall the LORD be my God:And this stone, which I have set[ for] a pillar, shall be God’s house: and of all that thou shalt give me I will surely give the tenth unto thee.

And it came to pass after this, that the king of the children of Ammon died, and Hanun his son reigned in his stead.Then said David, I will shew kindness unto Hanun the son of Nahash, as his father shewed kindness unto me. And David sent to comfort him by the hand of his servants for his father. And David’s servants came into the land of the children of Ammon.And the princes of the children of Ammon said unto Hanun their lord, Thinkest thou that David doth honour thy father, that he hath sent comforters unto thee? hath not David[ rather] sent his servants unto thee, to search the city, and to spy it out, and to overthrow it?Wherefore Hanun took David’s servants, and shaved off the one half of their beards, and cut off their garments in the middle,[ even] to their buttocks, and sent them away.When they told[ it] unto David, he sent to meet them, because the men were greatly ashamed: and the king said, Tarry at Jericho until your beards be grown, and[ then] return.And when the children of Ammon saw that they stank before David, the children of Ammon sent and hired the Syrians of Bethrehob, and the Syrians of Zoba, twenty thousand footmen, and of king Maacah a thousand men, and of Ishtob twelve thousand men.And when David heard of[ it], he sent Joab, and all the host of the mighty men.And the children of Ammon came out, and put the battle in array at the entering in of the gate: and the Syrians of Zoba, and of Rehob, and Ishtob, and Maacah,[ were] by themselves in the field.When Joab saw that the front of the battle was against him before and behind, he chose of all the choice[ men] of Israel, and put[ them] in array against the Syrians:And the rest of the people he delivered into the hand of Abishai his brother, that he might put[ them] in array against the children of Ammon.And he said, If the Syrians be too strong for me, then thou shalt help me: but if the children of Ammon be too strong for thee, then I will come and help thee.Be of good courage, and let us play the men for our people, and for the cities of our God: and the LORD do that which seemeth him good.And Joab drew nigh, and the people that[ were] with him, unto the battle against the Syrians: and they fled before him.And when the children of Ammon saw that the Syrians were fled, then fled they also before Abishai, and entered into the city. So Joab returned from the children of Ammon, and came to Jerusalem.And when the Syrians saw that they were smitten before Israel, they gathered themselves together.And Hadarezer sent, and brought out the Syrians that[ were] beyond the river: and they came to Helam; and Shobach the captain of the host of Hadarezer[ went] before them.And when it was told David, he gathered all Israel together, and passed over Jordan, and came to Helam. And the Syrians set themselves in array against David, and fought with him.And the Syrians fled before Israel; and David slew[ the men of] seven hundred chariots of the Syrians, and forty thousand horsemen, and smote Shobach the captain of their host, who died there.And when all the kings[ that were] servants to Hadarezer saw that they were smitten before Israel, they made peace with Israel, and served them. So the Syrians feared to help the children of Ammon any more.

And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people,[ but] it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever.Forasmuch as thou sawest that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it brake in pieces the iron, the brass, the clay, the silver, and the gold; the great God hath made known to the king what shall come to pass hereafter: and the dream[ is] certain, and the interpretation thereof sure.
