就是他对我们祖先亚伯拉罕所起的誓，

就是与亚伯拉罕所立的约，向以撒所起的誓。

神应许亚伯拉罕的时候，因为没有比自己更大的可以指着起誓，他就指着自己起誓，说：“我必定赐福给你，必定使你的后裔繁多。”

因为我曾指着自己起誓，波斯拉必成为令人惊骇、被人羞辱和咒诅的对象；它必变成荒野，它一切的城镇都必永远变成荒场。”这是耶和华的宣告。

我必使你成为大国，赐福给你，使你的名为大，你也必使别人得福，

原来神给亚伯拉罕和他后裔承受世界的应许，并不是因着律法，而是藉着因信而来的义。如果属于律法的人才能成为后嗣，信就没有作用，应许也就落空了。

万军之耶和华指着自己起誓，说：“我必使敌人充满你，像蝗虫一样布满你的全地，他们必对你发出胜利的吶喊。”

我指着自己起誓，我的口凭着公义说出的话，决不改变：‘万膝都必向我跪拜，万口都要指着我起誓。’

主耶和华指着自己起誓说：“我痛恨雅各所夸耀的，憎恶他的堡垒；我要把城市和城中的一切，都交给敌人。”这是耶和华万军的神的宣告。
