撒母耳以石立於米斯巴與善之間、稱其名以便以謝、以便以謝譯即救助石之義曰、至此主救助我、

兄弟、我不欲爾不知、我在亞西亞遭難、被迫特甚、勢不可當、致絕保生命之望、自擬必死、致我不恃己、惟恃使死者復活之天主、天主曾救我脫如此之危亡、今仍救我、且望其嗣後復救我、

邑四周一萬八千竿、是日以後、邑必稱為主駐蹕之所、

雅各名其地曰毘努伊勒、毘努伊勒譯即覿神之義言雖與神覿面、而生命尚存、

主見己民無力可恃、自主及僕自主及僕或作成人幼穉俱已消亡、則必為民伸冤、亦復矜恤其僕、或作則必為其民而伸冤為其僕而回志

大哉虔敬之奧妙、無人不以為然、天主假人身顯著、因神而稱義、為天使所見、被傳於異邦人、見信於天下、而升於榮光、

夫道成肉軀、居於我儕間、我儕見其榮、誠如父獨生子之榮、充滿恩寵真理、
