亚伯拉罕说：“我儿啊，神必亲自预备燔祭用的羔羊！”他们两人就一同前行。

我们的祖先依靠你；他们依靠你，你就解救他们。他们向你哀求就得拯救；他们依靠你就不致蒙羞。

夏甲就称那对她说话的耶和华为“你是看顾的神”，因为她说：“我竟然在这里见到了看顾我的那一位！”因此这井被称为比珥-拉海-罗伊，就在加低斯和贝列德之间。

他就给那地方起名为伯特利；不过那城先前名叫路斯。

撒母耳取来一块石头，放在米斯巴和善之间，给它起名为以便-以谢，说：“直到如今，耶和华都帮助我们。”

弟兄们，我们不愿意你们不明白我们在亚细亚省所遭受的患难：我们所受的压力远远过于我们的承受能力，甚至连活下去的希望也没有了。然而我们在自己里面已经承受了死亡的判决，好让我们不依靠自己，而依靠那使死人复活的神。他救我们脱离了如此致命的危险，并且将来要救我们——我们盼望他将来还要救我们。

如果真被扔进火窑中，我们所事奉的神也能从烈火燃烧的窑中拯救我们；王啊，他必从你的手中拯救我们！即或不然，王啊，你要知道，我们也绝不会事奉你的神明，不会向你所立的金像膜拜！”尼布甲尼撒就怒火填膺，对沙德拉克、米沙克、亚伯尼哥变了脸色。他下令把窑烧热，比平常更热七倍；又命令他军队中几个最强壮的人，把沙德拉克、米沙克、亚伯尼哥绑起来，扔进烈火燃烧的窑中。于是这三个人穿着长袍、长裤和其他的衣服，戴着头巾，被绑起来扔进了烈火燃烧的窑中。由于从王发出的命令急迫，窑又烧得非常热，烈火的火焰烧死了那些抬沙德拉克、米沙克、亚伯尼哥的人。就这样，沙德拉克、米沙克、亚伯尼哥这三个人，被绑着落入了烈火燃烧的窑中。那时，尼布甲尼撒王感到惊奇，急忙站起来，开口问他的谋士们：“我们绑起来扔进烈火中的，难道不是三个人吗？”他们回答王，说：“王啊，是的！”王回应说：“看哪，我看到有四个人，并没有被绑着，在烈火中行走，身上也没有损伤，而那第四个人，他的样貌仿佛神子。”

雅各就给那地方起名为毗努伊勒，因为他说：“我面对面看见了神，但我的性命得以保住。”

正如大家所承认的，敬神的奥秘是极大的：神以肉身显现，被圣灵证实，被天使观看，被传于万邦，被世人信仰，被接在荣耀里。

道成了肉身，居住在我们中间。我们看到了他的荣耀，正是从父而来的独生子的荣耀，充满了恩典和真理。
