Sarah said,“ God has made me laugh. Everyone who hears about this will laugh with me.”

撒拉说：“神使我欢笑，凡听见的，也必为我欢笑。”

撒拉说：“神使我欢笑，所有听见的人也必与我一同欢笑。”

撒拉說：「神使我喜笑，凡聽見的必與我一同喜笑」；

撒拉說：「上帝使我歡笑，凡聽見的人必與我一同歡笑」，

撒拉說：「神使我歡笑，凡聽見的人必與我一同歡笑」，

撒拉說：「上帝使我歡笑，凡聽見這事的人也必跟我一同歡笑。

撒拉說：“神使我歡笑，凡聽見的，也必為我歡笑。”

撒拉說：『上帝使我喜笑；凡聽見的也必為了我而喜笑。』

撒拉說：「神使我歡笑，所有聽見的人也必與我一同歡笑。」

撒拉曰、上帝使我笑、凡聞之者、將與我同笑、

撒拉曰、上帝使我粲然而笑、聞者將與我粲然而笑。

撒拉曰、天主使我喜笑、凡聞之者必偕我喜笑、

Sarah said,“ God has brought me laughter, and everyone who hears about this will laugh with me.”

Sarah said,“ God has given laughter to me. Everyone who hears about this will laugh with me.”

And Sarah said,“ God has made laughter for me; everyone who hears will laugh over me.”

And Sarah declared,“ God has brought me laughter. All who hear about this will laugh with me.

Sarah said,“ God has made me laugh, and everyone who hears will laugh with me.”

Sarah said,“ God has made laughter for me; everyone who hears will laugh with me.”

And Sarah said,“ God has made me laugh, and all who hear will laugh with me.”

And Sarah said, God hath made me to laugh; every one that heareth will laugh with me.

Sarah said,“ God has made me laugh, and everyone who hears will laugh with me.”

And Sarah said, God hath made me to laugh,[ so that] all that hear will laugh with me.

Sarah said,“ God has made me laugh. Everyone who hears will laugh with me.”

“ Shout for joy, O barren one who has not given birth! Give a joyful shout and cry out, you who have not been in labor! For the children of the desolate one are more numerous than the children of the married woman,” says the LORD.

At that time we laughed loudly and shouted for joy. At that time the nations said,“ The LORD has accomplished great things for these people.”

Then Abraham bowed down with his face to the ground and laughed as he said to himself,“ Can a son be born to a man who is a hundred years old? Can Sarah bear a child at the age of ninety?”

He makes the barren woman of the family a happy mother of children. Praise the LORD!

When a woman gives birth, she has distress because her time has come, but when her child is born, she no longer remembers the suffering because of her joy that a human being has been born into the world.So also you have sorrow now, but I will see you again, and your hearts will rejoice, and no one will take your joy away from you.

Joy and gladness will come to you, and many will rejoice at his birth,

Then you will think to yourself,‘ Who bore these children for me? I was bereaved and barren, dismissed and divorced. Who raised these children? Look, I was left all alone; where did these children come from?’”

She said,“ Just as surely as you are alive, my lord, I am the woman who previously stood here with you in order to pray to the LORD.I prayed for this boy, and the LORD has given me the request that I asked of him.Now I dedicate him to the LORD. From this time on he is dedicated to the LORD.” Then they worshiped the LORD there.Hannah prayed,“ My heart rejoices in the LORD; my horn is exalted high because of the LORD. I loudly denounce my enemies, for I am happy that you delivered me.No one is holy like the LORD! There is no one other than you! There is no rock like our God!Don’t keep speaking so arrogantly, letting proud talk come out of your mouth! For the LORD is a God who knows; he evaluates what people do.The bows of warriors are shattered, but those who stumble find their strength reinforced.Those who are well-fed hire themselves out to earn food, but the hungry no longer lack. Even the barren woman gives birth to seven, but the one with many children withers away.The LORD both kills and gives life; he brings down to the grave and raises up.The LORD impoverishes and makes wealthy; he humbles and he exalts.He lifts the weak from the dust; he raises the poor from the ash heap to seat them with princes and to bestow on them an honored position. The foundations of the earth belong to the LORD, and he has placed the world on them.He watches over his holy ones, but the wicked are made speechless in the darkness, for it is not by one’s own strength that one prevails.The LORD shatters his adversaries; he thunders against them from the heavens. The LORD executes judgment to the ends of the earth. He will strengthen his king and exalt the power of his anointed one.”

So Sarah laughed to herself, thinking,“ After I am worn out will I have pleasure, especially when my husband is old too?”The LORD said to Abraham,“ Why did Sarah laugh and say,‘ Will I really have a child when I am old?’Is anything impossible for the LORD? I will return to you when the season comes round again and Sarah will have a son.”Then Sarah lied, saying,“ I did not laugh,” because she was afraid. But the LORD said,“ No! You did laugh.”

Her neighbors and relatives heard that the Lord had shown great mercy to her, and they rejoiced with her.

And Mary said,“ My soul exalts the Lord,and my spirit has begun to rejoice in God my Savior,because he has looked upon the humble state of his servant. For from now on all generations will call me blessed,because he who is mighty has done great things for me, and holy is his name;from generation to generation he is merciful to those who fear him.He has demonstrated power with his arm; he has scattered those whose pride wells up from the sheer arrogance of their hearts.He has brought down the mighty from their thrones, and has lifted up those of lowly position;he has filled the hungry with good things, and has sent the rich away empty.He has helped his servant Israel, remembering his mercy,as he promised to our ancestors, to Abraham and to his descendants forever.”

Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep.

By faith, even though Sarah herself was barren and he was too old, he received the ability to procreate, because he regarded the one who had given the promise to be trustworthy.

For it is written:“ Rejoice, O barren woman who does not bear children; break forth and shout, you who have no birth pains, because the children of the desolate woman are more numerous than those of the woman who has a husband.”But you, brothers and sisters, are children of the promise like Isaac.

Can a woman forget her baby who nurses at her breast? Can she withhold compassion from the child she has borne? Even if mothers were to forget, I could never forget you!
