Sarah said,“ God has made me laugh, and everyone who hears will laugh with me.”

撒拉說：「上帝使我歡笑，凡聽見這事的人也必跟我一同歡笑。

撒拉說：“神使我歡笑，凡聽見的，也必為我歡笑。”

撒拉說：『上帝使我喜笑；凡聽見的也必為了我而喜笑。』

撒拉說：「神使我歡笑，所有聽見的人也必與我一同歡笑。」

撒拉曰、上帝使我笑、凡聞之者、將與我同笑、

撒拉曰、上帝使我粲然而笑、聞者將與我粲然而笑。

撒拉曰、天主使我喜笑、凡聞之者必偕我喜笑、

Sarah said,“ God has brought me laughter, and everyone who hears about this will laugh with me.”

Sarah said,“ God has given laughter to me. Everyone who hears about this will laugh with me.”

And Sarah said,“ God has made laughter for me; everyone who hears will laugh over me.”

And Sarah declared,“ God has brought me laughter. All who hear about this will laugh with me.

Sarah said,“ God has made laughter for me; everyone who hears will laugh with me.”

And Sarah said,“ God has made me laugh, and all who hear will laugh with me.”

And Sarah said, God hath made me to laugh; every one that heareth will laugh with me.

Sarah said,“ God has made me laugh, and everyone who hears will laugh with me.”

And Sarah said, God hath made me to laugh,[ so that] all that hear will laugh with me.

Sarah said,“ God has made me laugh. Everyone who hears about this will laugh with me.”

Sarah said,“ God has made me laugh. Everyone who hears will laugh with me.”

“ Rejoice, childless one, who did not give birth; burst into song and shout, you who have not been in labor! For the children of the desolate one will be more than the children of the married woman,” says the LORD.

Our mouths were filled with laughter then, and our tongues with shouts of joy. Then they said among the nations,“ The LORD has done great things for them.”

Abraham fell facedown. Then he laughed and said to himself,“ Can a child be born to a hundred-year-old man? Can Sarah, a ninety-year-old woman, give birth?”

He gives the childless woman a household, making her the joyful mother of children. Hallelujah!

When a woman is in labor, she has pain because her time has come. But when she has given birth to a child, she no longer remembers the suffering because of the joy that a person has been born into the world.So you also have sorrow now. But I will see you again. Your hearts will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy from you.

There will be joy and delight for you, and many will rejoice at his birth.

Then you will say within yourself,‘ Who fathered these for me? I was deprived of my children and unable to conceive, exiled and wandering— but who brought them up? See, I was left by myself— but these, where did they come from?’”

“ Please, my lord,” she said,“ as surely as you live, my lord, I am the woman who stood here beside you praying to the LORD.I prayed for this boy, and since the LORD gave me what I asked him for,I now give the boy to the LORD. For as long as he lives, he is given to the LORD.” Then he worshiped the LORD there.Hannah prayed: My heart rejoices in the LORD; my horn is lifted up by the LORD. My mouth boasts over my enemies, because I rejoice in your salvation.There is no one holy like the LORD. There is no one besides you! And there is no rock like our God.Do not boast so proudly, or let arrogant words come out of your mouth, for the LORD is a God of knowledge, and actions are weighed by him.The bows of the warriors are broken, but the feeble are clothed with strength.Those who are full hire themselves out for food, but those who are starving hunger no more. The woman who is childless gives birth to seven, but the woman with many sons pines away.The LORD brings death and gives life; he sends some down to Sheol, and he raises others up.The LORD brings poverty and gives wealth; he humbles and he exalts.He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the needy from the trash heap. He seats them with noblemen and gives them a throne of honor. For the foundations of the earth are the LORD’s; he has set the world on them.He guards the steps of his faithful ones, but the wicked perish in darkness, for a person does not prevail by his own strength.Those who oppose the LORD will be shattered; he will thunder in the heavens against them. The LORD will judge the ends of the earth. He will give power to his king; he will lift up the horn of his anointed.

So she laughed to herself:“ After I am worn out and my lord is old, will I have delight?”But the LORD asked Abraham,“ Why did Sarah laugh, saying,‘ Can I really have a baby when I’m old?’Is anything impossible for the LORD? At the appointed time I will come back to you, and in about a year she will have a son.”Sarah denied it.“ I did not laugh,” she said, because she was afraid. But he replied,“ No, you did laugh.”

Then her neighbors and relatives heard that the Lord had shown her his great mercy, and they rejoiced with her.

And Mary said: My soul magnifies the Lord,and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior,because he has looked with favor on the humble condition of his servant. Surely, from now on all generations will call me blessed,because the Mighty One has done great things for me, and his name is holy.His mercy is from generation to generation on those who fear him.He has done a mighty deed with his arm; he has scattered the proud because of the thoughts of their hearts;he has toppled the mighty from their thrones and exalted the lowly.He has satisfied the hungry with good things and sent the rich away empty.He has helped his servant Israel, remembering his mercyto Abraham and his descendants forever, just as he spoke to our ancestors.

Rejoice with those who rejoice; weep with those who weep.

By faith even Sarah herself, when she was unable to have children, received power to conceive offspring, even though she was past the age, since she considered that the one who had promised was faithful.

For it is written, Rejoice, childless woman, unable to give birth. Burst into song and shout, you who are not in labor, for the children of the desolate woman will be many, more numerous than those of the woman who has a husband.Now you too, brothers and sisters, like Isaac, are children of promise.

“ Can a woman forget her nursing child, or lack compassion for the child of her womb? Even if these forget, yet I will not forget you.
