So Abraham got up early in the morning and took bread and a skin of water, and gave them to Hagar, putting them on her shoulder, and gave her the boy, and sent her away. And she departed and wandered about in the wilderness of Beersheba.

But the son by the slave woman was born according to the flesh, and the son by the free woman through the promise.This is speaking allegorically, for these women are two covenants: one coming from Mount Sinai giving birth to children who are to be slaves; she is Hagar.Now this Hagar is Mount Sinai in Arabia and corresponds to the present Jerusalem, for she is enslaved with her children.

So Abraham got up early in the morning and saddled his donkey, and took two of his young men with him and his son Isaac; and he split wood for the burnt offering, and set out and went to the place of which God had told him.

For the fields of Heshbon have withered, the vines of Sibmah as well; The lords of the nations have trampled down its choice clusters Which reached as far as Jazer and wandered to the deserts; Its tendrils spread themselves out and passed over the sea.

Therefore he called that place Beersheba, because there the two of them took an oath.

Abraham planted a tamarisk tree at Beersheba, and there he called on the name of the Lord, the Everlasting God.

Then he and the men who were with him ate and drank and spent the night. When they got up in the morning, he said,“ Send me away to my master.”
