Early the next morning Abraham took some food and a skin of water and gave them to Hagar. He set them on her shoulders and then sent her off with the boy. She went on her way and wandered in the Desert of Beersheba.

凡你的手能做的，都要尽力去做，因为在你要去的阴间没有工作，没有计划，也没有知识和智慧。

以色列带着他所有的一切来到别示巴，向他父亲以撒的上帝献祭。

清早高声为邻舍祝福，无异于咒诅他。

有人见他在田野走迷了路，就问他：“你在找什么？”

他趁自己还在世的时候，把一些礼物送给他的妾所生的儿子们，让他们离开他的儿子以撒到东方去。

第二天早晨，以撒和他们互相起誓之后，送他们平安地离去。

以扫带着他在迦南所得的妻子、儿女和家中所有的人员，以及所有的牲畜和财产离开雅各，迁往别处。以扫和雅各两家的财产和牲畜太多，那地方不够他们住，

他们在旷野中飘泊，居无定所，

以撒便称那口井为示巴，因此那城叫别示巴，沿用至今。

婢女的儿子是按着人的意愿生的，主母的儿子是按着上帝的应许生的。这些事都有更深的含义，两个妇人是指两个约。夏甲代表颁布于西奈山的约，她所生的孩子是奴仆。这夏甲指的是阿拉伯的西奈山，相当于现今的耶路撒冷，她和她的儿女都是奴仆。

亚伯拉罕清早起来，准备好驴，劈好献燔祭用的柴，带着两个仆人和儿子以撒动身前往上帝指示他的地方。

因为希实本的农田荒废，西比玛的葡萄树枯萎。各国的君王都来践踏这些上好的葡萄树。它们的枝子曾经伸展到雅谢和旷野，嫩枝一直蔓延到死海。

所以，那地方被称为别示巴，因为他们二人在那里起了誓。

亚伯拉罕在别示巴栽了一棵红柳，又在那里呼求耶和华——永恒上帝的名。

亚伯拉罕清早起来，走到他从前站在耶和华面前的地方，

奴隶不能永远留在主人的家里，只有儿子才可以。

我毫不迟疑地遵守你的命令。

耶和华的天使在旷野中通往书珥之路的水泉旁找到了夏甲，

以利亚很害怕，连忙逃命，来到犹大的别示巴。他让仆人留在那里，

于是，亚伯拉罕回到仆人等候的地方，他们一同返回亚伯拉罕居住的别示巴。

老总管和随行的人用过晚饭以后，在那里住了一夜。第二天早晨，老总管说：“请让我返回我主人那里。”
