To Sarah he said,“ I am giving your brother a thousand shekels of silver. This is to cover the offense against you before all who are with you; you are completely vindicated.”

他对撒拉说：“看哪，我给你哥哥一千银子。看哪，这要在你全家人面前遮羞，向众人证实你是清白的。”

他对撒拉说：“看哪，我给你哥哥一千银子。看哪，这要在你全家人面前遮羞，向众人证实你是清白的。”

亚比米勒对撒拉说：“我给你哥哥十一公斤银子，在你家人面前证明你是清白的，你没有做错什么。”

謂撒拉曰、我以千金賜爾兄、以蔽爾容於眾前、則爾所行、無不義矣、

謂撒拉曰、我以千金賜爾兄、可蔽爾容、勿令眾見、言此蓋以責之。○

謂撒拉曰、我以千金賜爾兄、為爾蔽面於眾前、及凡偕爾者、言此蓋以責之、或作我以千金賜爾兄可在偕爾者之前以蔽爾羞爾之冤抑則得伸於眾前

He said to Sarah,“ I’m giving your brother 25 pounds of silver. This will show everyone with you that I am sorry for what I did to you. You haven’t done anything wrong.”

To Sarah he said,“ Behold, I have given your brother a thousand pieces of silver. It is a sign of your innocence in the eyes of all who are with you, and before everyone you are vindicated.”

And he said to Sarah,“ Look, I am giving your‘ brother’ 1,000 pieces of silver in the presence of all these witnesses. This is to compensate you for any wrong I may have done to you. This will settle any claim against me, and your reputation is cleared.”

And he said to Sarah,“ Look, I am giving your brother one thousand pieces of silver. It is a verification of your honor to all who are with you. You are fully vindicated.”

To Sarah he said,“ Look, I have given your brother a thousand pieces of silver. It is your vindication before all who are with you, and before everyone you are cleared.”

Then to Sarah he said,“ Behold, I have given your brother a thousand pieces of silver; indeed this vindicates you before all who are with you and before everybody.” Thus she was rebuked.

And unto Sarah he said, Behold, I have given thy brother a thousand pieces of silver: behold, it is for thee a covering of the eyes to all that are with thee; and in respect of all thou art righted.

And he said to Sarah,“ Look, I am giving your brother 1,000 pieces of silver. It is a verification of your honor to all who are with you. You are fully vindicated.”

And unto Sarah he said, Behold, I have given thy brother a thousand[ pieces] of silver: behold, he[ is] to thee a covering of the eyes, unto all that[ are] with thee, and with all[ other]: thus she was reproved.

To Sarah he said,“ Look, I have given a thousand pieces of silver to your‘ brother.’ This is compensation for you so that you will stand vindicated before all who are with you.”

To Sarah he said,“ Behold, I have given your brother a thousand pieces of silver. Behold, it is for you a covering of the eyes to all that are with you. In front of all you are vindicated.”

Better is open rebuke than hidden love.

Did he not say to me,‘ She is my sister,’ and didn’t she also say,‘ He is my brother’? I have done this with a clear conscience and clean hands.”

and asked the servant,“ Who is that man in the field coming to meet us?”“ He is my master,” the servant answered. So she took her veil and covered herself.

The captain went to him and said,“ How can you sleep? Get up and call on your god! Maybe he will take notice of us so that we will not perish.”

Do not rebuke mockers or they will hate you; rebuke the wise and they will love you.Instruct the wise and they will be wiser still; teach the righteous and they will add to their learning.

So Abimelek gave orders to all the people:“ Anyone who harms this man or his wife shall surely be put to death.”

Like an earring of gold or an ornament of fine gold is the rebuke of a wise judge to a listening ear.

Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest and repent.

But Joab replied,“ May the Lord multiply his troops a hundred times over. My lord the king, are they not all my lord’s subjects? Why does my lord want to do this? Why should he bring guilt on Israel?”The king’s word, however, overruled Joab; so Joab left and went throughout Israel and then came back to Jerusalem.Joab reported the number of the fighting men to David: In all Israel there were one million one hundred thousand men who could handle a sword, including four hundred and seventy thousand in Judah.But Joab did not include Levi and Benjamin in the numbering, because the king’s command was repulsive to him.

Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge, but whoever hates correction is stupid.
