When God made me wander from my father’s house, I told her,‘ This is what you can do to show your loyalty to me: Every place we go, say about me,“ He is my brother.”’”

当神叫我离开父家、飘流在外的时候，我对她说：‘我们无论走到什么地方，你可以对人说：他是我的哥哥；这就是你待我的恩典了。’”

When God called me to leave my father’s home and to travel from place to place, I told her,‘ Do me a favor. Wherever we go, tell the people that I am your brother.’”

Now the LORD said to Abram,“ Go out from your country, your relatives, and your father’s household to the land that I will show you.

Abram continually journeyed by stages down to the Negev.

They encourage one another to carry out their evil deed. They plan how to hide snares, and boast,“ Who will see them?”

As he approached Egypt, he said to his wife Sarai,“ Look, I know that you are a beautiful woman.When the Egyptians see you they will say,‘ This is his wife.’ Then they will kill me but will keep you alive.So tell them you are my sister so that it may go well for me because of you and my life will be spared on account of you.”When Abram entered Egypt, the Egyptians saw that the woman was very beautiful.When Pharaoh’s officials saw her, they praised her to Pharaoh. So Abram’s wife was taken into the household of Pharaoh,and he did treat Abram well on account of her. Abram received sheep and cattle, male donkeys, male servants, female servants, female donkeys, and camels.But the LORD struck Pharaoh and his household with severe diseases because of Sarai, Abram’s wife.So Pharaoh summoned Abram and said,“ What is this you have done to me? Why didn’t you tell me that she was your wife?Why did you say,‘ She is my sister,’ so that I took her to be my wife? Here is your wife! Take her and go!”Pharaoh gave his men orders about Abram, and so they expelled him, along with his wife and all his possessions.

Peter then told her,“ Why have you agreed together to test the Spirit of the Lord? Look! The feet of those who have buried your husband are at the door, and they will carry you out!”

By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to a place he would later receive as an inheritance, and he went out without understanding where he was going.

and said to him,‘ Go out from your country and from your relatives, and come to the land I will show you.’Then he went out from the country of the Chaldeans and settled in Haran. After his father died, God made him move to this country where you now live.He did not give any of it to him for an inheritance, not even a foot of ground, yet God promised to give it to him as his possession, and to his descendants after him, even though Abraham as yet had no child.

Saul replied,“ May you be blessed by the LORD, for you have had compassion on me.
