And Abraham said, Because I thought, Surely the fear of God[ is] not in this place; and they will slay me for my wife’s sake.

亚伯拉罕回答：“因为我以为这地方必定没有敬畏神的人，他们会因我妻子的缘故杀我。

亚伯拉罕回答：“因为我想这地方一定没有敬畏神的人，他们会因我妻子的缘故杀了我。

亞伯拉罕說：「我以為這地方的人總不懼怕神，必為我妻子的緣故殺我。

亞伯拉罕說：「我以為這地方的人根本不敬畏上帝，必為我妻子的緣故殺我。

亞伯拉罕說：「我以為這地方的人根本不敬畏神，必為我妻子的緣故殺我。

亞伯拉罕回答說：「因為我想這裡的人不敬畏上帝，他們必為了奪我妻子而殺我。

亞伯拉罕回答：“因為我以為這地方必定沒有敬畏神的人，他們會因我妻子的緣故殺我。

亞伯拉罕說：『我心裏說，這地方總沒有畏懼上帝的心，總會為了我妻子的緣故來殺我。

亞伯拉罕回答：「因為我想這地方一定沒有敬畏神的人，他們會因我妻子的緣故殺了我。

亞伯拉罕曰、我意此邦不畏上帝、必緣我妻而殺我、

亞伯拉罕曰、我意此邦不畏上帝、恐為我妻而殺我。

亞伯拉罕曰、我意在此者不畏天主、恐緣我妻而殺我、

Abraham replied,“ I said to myself,‘ There is surely no fear of God in this place, and they will kill me because of my wife.’

Abraham replied,“ I thought,‘ There is no respect for God in this place. They will kill me because of my wife.’

Abraham said,“ I did it because I thought,‘ There is no fear of God at all in this place, and they will kill me because of my wife.’

Abraham replied,“ I thought,‘ This is a godless place. They will want my wife and will kill me to get her.’

Abraham replied,“ I thought,‘ There is absolutely no fear of God in this place. They will kill me because of my wife.’

Abraham said,“ Because I thought, surely there is no fear of God in this place, and they will kill me because of my wife.

And Abraham said,“ Because I thought, surely the fear of God is not in this place; and they will kill me on account of my wife.

And Abraham said, Because I thought, Surely the fear of God is not in this place; and they will slay me for my wife’s sake.

Abraham replied,“ I thought,‘ There is absolutely no fear of God in this place. They will kill me because of my wife.’

Abraham replied,“ Because I thought,‘ Surely no one fears God in this place. They will kill me because of my wife.’

Abraham said,“ Because I thought,‘ Surely the fear of God is not in this place. They will kill me for my wife’s sake.’

Therefore it shall come to pass, when the Egyptians shall see thee, that they shall say, This[ is] his wife: and they will kill me, but they will save thee alive.

And the men of the place asked[ him] of his wife; and he said, She[ is] my sister: for he feared to say,[ She is] my wife; lest,[ said he], the men of the place should kill me for Rebekah; because she[ was] fair to look upon.

By mercy and truth iniquity is purged: and by the fear of the LORD[ men] depart from evil.

But the former governors that[ had been] before me were chargeable unto the people, and had taken of them bread and wine, beside forty shekels of silver; yea, even their servants bare rule over the people: but so did not I, because of the fear of God.

And Joseph said unto them the third day, This do, and live;[ for] I fear God:

And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that[ is] wisdom; and to depart from evil[ is] understanding.

Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge? who eat up my people[ as] they eat bread, and call not upon the LORD.

The fear of the LORD[ is] to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate.

And he said, Lay not thine hand upon the lad, neither do thou any thing unto him: for now I know that thou fearest God, seeing thou hast not withheld thy son, thine only[ son] from me.

There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name[ was] Job; and that man was perfect and upright, and one that feared God, and eschewed evil.

Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God.

The transgression of the wicked saith within my heart,[ that there is] no fear of God before his eyes.For he flattereth himself in his own eyes, until his iniquity be found to be hateful.The words of his mouth[ are] iniquity and deceit: he hath left off to be wise,[ and] to do good.He deviseth mischief upon his bed; he setteth himself in a way[ that is] not good; he abhorreth not evil.

There is no fear of God before their eyes.

The fear of the LORD[ is] the beginning of knowledge:[ but] fools despise wisdom and instruction.
