以撒就住在基拉耳。

耶和華在幔利橡樹那裏向亞伯拉罕顯現出來。那時正熱，亞伯拉罕坐在帳棚門口，

所以這井名叫庇耳‧拉海‧萊。這井正在加低斯和巴列中間。

亞伯蘭的妻子撒萊不給他生兒女。撒萊有一個使女，名叫夏甲，是埃及人。

耶和華的使者在曠野書珥路上的水泉旁遇見她，

亞伯蘭帶着他的妻子與羅得，並一切所有的，都從埃及上南地去。

他們回到安‧密巴，就是加低斯，殺敗了亞瑪力全地的人，以及住在哈洗遜‧他瑪的亞摩利人。

耶和華的聲音震動曠野；耶和華震動加低斯的曠野。

基拉耳的牧人與以撒的牧人爭競，說：「這水是我們的。」以撒就給那井起名叫埃色，因為他們和他相爭。

那時，以撒住在南地，剛從庇耳‧拉海‧萊回來。
