Then the Lord God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.

耶和華啊，現在你仍是我們的父！我們是泥，你是窰匠；我們都是你手的工作。

塵土仍歸於地，靈仍歸於賜靈的神。

經上也是這樣記着說：「首先的人亞當成了有靈的活人」；末後的亞當成了叫人活的靈。

神的靈造我；全能者的氣使我得生。

也不用人手服事，好像缺少甚麼；自己倒將生命、氣息、萬物，賜給萬人。

你必汗流滿面才得糊口，直到你歸了土，因為你是從土而出的。你本是塵土，仍要歸於塵土。

因為他知道我們的本體，思念我們不過是塵土。

我的生命尚在我裏面；神所賜呼吸之氣仍在我的鼻孔內。

頭一個人是出於地，乃屬土；第二個人是出於天。

凡在旱地上、鼻孔有氣息的生靈都死了。

耶和華神便打發他出伊甸園去，耕種他所自出之土。

你這個人哪，你是誰，竟敢向神強嘴呢？受造之物豈能對造他的說：「你為甚麼這樣造我呢？」

耶和華論以色列的默示。鋪張諸天、建立地基、造人裏面之靈的耶和華說：

你們休要倚靠世人。他鼻孔裏不過有氣息；他在一切事上可算甚麼呢？

你們當曉得耶和華是神！我們是他造的，也是屬他的；我們是他的民，也是他草場的羊。

摩西、亞倫就俯伏在地，說：「神，萬人之靈的神啊，一人犯罪，你就要向全會眾發怒嗎？」

我在神面前與你一樣，也是用土造成。

再者，我們曾有生身的父管教我們，我們尚且敬重他，何況萬靈的父，我們豈不更當順服他得生嗎？

說了這話，就向他們吹一口氣，說：「你們受聖靈！

人的靈是耶和華的燈，鑒察人的心腹。

都歸一處，都是出於塵土，也都歸於塵土。誰知道人的靈是往上升，獸的魂是下入地呢？

我們原知道，我們這地上的帳棚若拆毀了，必得神所造，不是人手所造，在天上永存的房屋。

我要稱謝你，因我受造，奇妙可畏；你的作為奇妙，這是我心深知道的。我在暗中受造，在地的深處被聯絡；那時，我的形體並不向你隱藏。

撕裂有時，縫補有時；靜默有時，言語有時；

我們有這寶貝放在瓦器裏，要顯明這莫大的能力是出於神，不是出於我們。

何況那住在土房、根基在塵土裏、被蠹蟲所毀壞的人呢？

「願耶和華萬人之靈的神，立一個人治理會眾，
