He rebuilt the high places his father Hezekiah had destroyed; he also erected altars to Baal and made an Asherah pole, as Ahab king of Israel had done. He bowed down to all the starry hosts and worshiped them.He built altars in the temple of the Lord, of which the Lord had said,“ In Jerusalem I will put my Name.”In the two courts of the temple of the Lord, he built altars to all the starry hosts. and contrary to my command has worshiped other gods, bowing down to them or to the sun or the moon or the stars in the sky, (niv)

Which of all these does not know that the hand of the Lord has done this? (niv)

They will be exposed to the sun and the moon and all the stars of the heavens, which they have loved and served and which they have followed and consulted and worshiped. They will not be gathered up or buried, but will be like dung lying on the ground. (niv)

“ As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. (niv)

All the stars in the sky will be dissolved and the heavens rolled up like a scroll; all the starry host will fall like withered leaves from the vine, like shriveled figs from the fig tree. (niv)

But God turned away from them and gave them over to the worship of the sun, moon and stars. This agrees with what is written in the book of the prophets:“‘ Did you bring me sacrifices and offerings forty years in the wilderness, people of Israel? (niv)

Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, (niv)

The Lord wraps himself in light as with a garment; he stretches out the heavens like a tent (niv)
