“希實本的哀叫傳到以利亞利，他們發出的聲音傳到雅雜，從瑣珥達到何羅念和伊基拉．施利施亞；因為連寧林的河水也都乾涸了。

南地和那平原，就是棕樹城耶利哥的盆地，直到瑣珥，都指給他看。

二人把他們帶出來以後，其中一位說：“逃命吧，不要回頭看，也不可留在這片平原上，要逃到山上去，免得你被除滅。”

因為三心兩意的人，在他的一切道路上，都搖擺不定。

你為甚麼要東奔西跑，改變你的路向呢？你必因埃及蒙羞，像你從前因亞述受辱一樣。你必雙手抱頭從埃及出來，因為耶和華棄絕了你所倚靠的，你靠他們必不能成功。’”

羅得舉目，看見約旦河整個平原，直到瑣珥，都有水灌溉；在耶和華毀滅所多瑪和蛾摩拉之前，這地好像耶和華的園子，也像埃及地一樣。
