亚伯拉罕近前来说：“你真要把义人与恶人一同除灭吗？假如那城中有五十个义人，你真的还会除灭它，而不因城中这五十个义人饶恕那地方吗？你绝不会做这样的事：把义人与恶人一同处死，让义人像恶人一样！你绝不会！难道全地的审判者不施行公正吗？”耶和华说：“如果我在所多玛城中找到五十个义人，我就会因他们的缘故饶恕那整个地方。”亚伯拉罕回应说：“看哪，尽管我是尘土和灰烬，也容我斗胆向我主说，假如这五十个义人中缺少五个，难道你会因缺少五个而毁灭全城吗？”耶和华说：“如果我在那里找到四十五个，我也不会毁灭那城。”亚伯拉罕又继续问他说：“假如在那里找到四十个呢？”耶和华就说：“因这四十个的缘故，我也不会这样做。”亚伯拉罕接着说：“请我主不要恼火，容我说，假如在那里找到三十个呢？”耶和华说：“如果我在那里找到三十个，我也不会这样做。”亚伯拉罕又说：“看哪，我再次斗胆向我主说，假如在那里找到二十个呢？”耶和华说：“因这二十个的缘故，我也不会毁灭那城。”亚伯拉罕再次说：“请我主不要恼火，容我说最后一次，假如在那里找到十个呢？”耶和华说：“因这十个的缘故，我也不会毁灭那城。”耶和华与亚伯拉罕说完话就走了，亚伯拉罕也回自己的地方去了。

不要记念我年幼时的罪恶和我的过犯；耶和华啊，求你因着你的美善，按着你的慈爱记念我！

他在我们卑微的时候记念我们，因他的慈爱永远长存！

因为他记念他圣洁的话语，记念他的仆人亚伯拉罕。

既然神拯救了那因恶人的好色行为而哀伤的义人罗得——

耶和华保守所有爱他的人，却要除灭所有的恶人。

我要使你成为一个大国，我要祝福你，使你的名为大；你也必成为别人的祝福！

神也记念瑞秋，听允了她，使她能生育。

耶和华啊，你悦纳你子民的时候，求你记念我，以你的救恩看顾我，

他记念自己的约，直到永远；记念他吩咐的话，直到千代——
