Suppose there are only forty five righteous people rather than fifty? Will you destroy the whole city for lack of five?” And the Lord said,“ I will not destroy it if I find forty five righteous people there.”

假若这五十个义人短了五个，你就因为短了五个毁灭全城吗？”他说：“我在那里若见有四十五个，也不毁灭那城。”

假若这五十个义人少了五个，你就因为少了五个而毁灭全城吗？”他说：“我在那里若找到四十五个，就不毁灭。”

倘若只有四十五个义人，你会因为少了五个义人而毁灭全城吗？”耶和华说：“倘若我在城里找到四十五个义人，我也不会毁灭那城。”

假令五十義者缺其五、豈因缺五人、而滅此一邑乎、曰、設有四十五人、則亦弗滅、

浸假而五十義者、缺其五、豈因是滅此一邑乎。曰、如有四十五人、則亦弗滅。

若五十善人、缺五人、則因缺五人而滅此一邑乎、曰、若邑中我遇四十五人則亦不滅、

what if the number of the righteous is five less than fifty? Will you destroy the whole city for lack of five people?”“ If I find forty- five there,” he said,“ I will not destroy it.”

What if the number of godly people is five fewer than 50? Will you destroy the whole city because there are five fewer people?”“ If I find 45 there,” he said,“ I will not destroy it.”

Suppose five of the fifty righteous are lacking. Will you destroy the whole city for lack of five?” And he said,“ I will not destroy it if I find forty-five there.”

Suppose the fifty righteous are lacking five, will You destroy the entire city because of five?” And He said,“ I will not destroy it if I find forty five there.”

Suppose there were five less than the fifty righteous; would You destroy all of the city for lack of five?” So He said,“ If I find there forty-five, I will not destroy it.”

peradventure there shall lack five of the fifty righteous: wilt thou destroy all the city for lack of five? And he said, I will not destroy it, if I find there forty and five.

Peradventure there shall lack five of the fifty righteous: wilt thou destroy all the city for[ lack of] five? And he said, If I find there forty and five, I will not destroy[ it].

what if there are five less than the fifty godly people? Will you destroy the whole city because five are lacking?” He replied,“ I will not destroy it if I find forty-five there.”

What if there will lack five of the fifty righteous? Will you destroy all the city for lack of five?” He said,“ I will not destroy it if I find forty- five there.”

“ Please, Lord, prove that your power is as great as you have claimed. For you said,‘ The Lord is slow to anger and filled with unfailing love, forgiving every kind of sin and rebellion. But he does not excuse the guilty. He lays the sins of the parents upon their children; the entire family is affected— even children in the third and fourth generations.’In keeping with your magnificent, unfailing love, please pardon the sins of this people, just as you have forgiven them ever since they left Egypt.”

If only I knew where to find God, I would go to his court.I would lay out my case and present my arguments.

Then Abraham pressed his request further.“ Suppose there are only forty?” And the Lord replied,“ I will not destroy it for the sake of the forty.”

And the Lord replied,“ If I find fifty righteous people in Sodom, I will spare the entire city for their sake.”

So they put on burlap and ropes, and they went to the king of Israel and begged,“ Your servant Ben hadad says,‘ Please let me live!’” The king of Israel responded,“ Is he still alive? He is my brother!”The men took this as a good sign and quickly picked up on his words.“ Yes,” they said,“ your brother Ben hadad!”“ Go and get him,” the king of Israel told them. And when Ben hadad arrived, Ahab invited him up into his chariot.
