那妇人来对丈夫说：“有一个神人到我这里来，他的容貌如上帝使者的容貌，非常可畏。我没有问他从哪里来，他也没有把他的名字告诉我。他对我说：‘看哪，你要怀孕，生一个儿子。现在，清酒烈酒都不可喝，任何不洁之物都不可吃，因为这孩子从出母胎一直到死的那一天，要归给上帝作拿细耳人。’”玛挪亚祈求耶和华说：“主啊，求你再差遣那神人到我们这里来，指示我们对这将要生的孩子该怎样作。”上帝垂听了玛挪亚的声音。那妇人坐在田间的时候，上帝的使者又到她那里，但是她的丈夫玛挪亚没有同她在一起。妇人急忙跑去告诉丈夫，对他说：“看哪，那日到我这里来的人又向我显现了。”玛挪亚起来，跟随他的妻子来到那人那里，对他说：“你就是跟这妇人说话的那个人吗？”他说：“是我。”

他自己却走到他们前面，一连七次俯伏在地才挨近他哥哥。以扫跑来迎接他，将他抱住，伏在他的颈项上亲他，他们都哭了。以扫举目看见妇人和孩子，就说：“这些和你一起的是谁呢？”雅各说：“这些孩子是上帝施恩给你仆人的。”于是两个婢女和她们的孩子前来下拜，利亚和她的孩子也前来下拜，随后约瑟和拉结也前来下拜。

路得就脸伏于地叩拜，对他说：“我既是外邦女子，怎么会在你眼中蒙恩，使你这样照顾我呢？”

在耶利哥的先知的门徒从对面看见他，说：“感动以利亚的灵临到以利沙身上了。”他们就来迎接他，俯伏于地，向他下拜，

圣徒有缺乏，要供给；异乡客，要殷勤款待。

你们要互相款待，不发怨言。
